Zoya is in this situation because of Asad in the first place and now they are going to show him as her savior...honesty, I am tired of seeing heroes been glorified in such manner. I really want Asad to realize his mistake. Zoya needs to move out of the house.

OMG I have no words for today's episode I mean the way they were handling Zoya was harsh and her expressions were really good and yes it was mainly Asad's fault but we know he's realised his mistake I hope he apologises without his ego getting in the way. But I don't think Zoya should leave yet, I mean she's pretty weak and also after this incident I don't think it's suitable for her to move out but later on yes if Asad mistreats her I think she should move out

yes, considering her physical and emotional condition...it is unlikely that she will move but I hope her sister and BIL is informed and they are by her side and help her overcome this. It's going to be very traumatic and on practically every case a person goes through PSTD syndrome. Probably then she can move into somewhere else with her family. Yes, Asad has realized his mistake but it is yet to be seen if he will change his attitude towards her or not. Lets see...??

Thanks for this post, Priyanka. I am Samridhi. I've been wanting to make this post too for quite some time, but just didn't get much time to do so.
I have no problem with a guy/girl being traditional, believing in values, traditions etc. but I hate it when these values become binding to the people around you. Asad is hot, smart, & he is not a bad guy. But he is someone who I find it to difficult to respect, or even like because of a few reasons:
1. He cannot accept people the way are. He has an issue with the way Zoya dresses. What has dressing got to do with your values, seriously.
2. He stereotypes. Women have to always have "tehzeeb" but Ayaan can go around flirt with all the women in the world. Or even women always need men to protect them. He doesn't let Tamatar go out alone.
3. He is arrogant. He thinks he knows it all. (btw Zoya has this problem too, but somehow she is more grounded in reality, in my opinion) I was glad that he lost that round to Zoya, when they were competing who knew about cricket better.
4. I am not sure how to phrase this point, ok so it's like this. The 1st time he saw Zoya & got attracted to her, was when she was wearing traditional attire & crying. The moment she opened her mouth & fought with him, he got irritated. That further re-inforced Asad's thoughts of how a woman is attractive to a man. She should be silent, helpless & decked up.
There are a few more, but I don't want to make this look like I'm anti-Asad. I am not anti-Asad, but rather anti his take on the western world & what he presumes to be his cultures/values.
P.S. I have a huge issue, esp. who say that wearing jeans is not right. I mean seriously, just like your salwar-kameez, it hides your legs. So what is the problem? The problem is not the jeans, but rather the ideology associated with the jeans, because it is a western world concept.

thanks Samridhi...you have a beautiful name. I completely share the same views about Asad as yours and no please don't think that you are anti Asad because you are not...you are against his qualities and not him... And believe me it is applaudable when one has the courage to speak his or her thoughts.

I will not add anything else because you have already explained the points very well. Asad seriously needs to reflect on his behavior and attitude and all the judgmental comments he has bestowed upon Zoya on the mere grounds of her being a NRI. He needs to think hard and straight ... He needs to reform himself from his regressive and oppressive self and modify himself into a true progressive man of the 21st century...he needs to respect women irrespective of them been NRI's or natives...not for Zoya because she is strong and is going to come out of this ordeal but for his tamatar Najma .

And tv/films only reflect what our society believes in, enjoys watching, is entertained by. I am not entertained by watching some poor girl be hurled insults at because she dares to think for herself and have to love/marry some guy who has done nothing but harass her.

Exactly! Even though many people don't agree and say otherwise, I think we do take what we see on television with us in our real lives and kind of develop a point of view keeping that in mind. When shows like this suppress women and show a character like Asad being a total jerk to a girl like Zoya and at the end they fall in love and get married it promotes the idea even if a guy treats you horribly there is a chance that one day he will fall in love with the girl and the girl should let everything he said in the past go and marry him. And that maybe true in some cases, however, the views of people don't change over night. It takes years and sometimes you are never able to change the way a person thinks. And to promote such ideas, I think is completely wrong and something that the Indian television industry should take in to consideration. What we watch does psychologically effect us and I think producers should take television as a medium to change the treatment of women not create more problems for them.

It's unfortunate that women are still considered as a commodity and not a person. A woman is always misjudged and rebuked no matter how right she is. 4lions has a pattern in portraying powerful heroes who has the liberty to insult, mistreat and even manhandle the female protagonist in the name of love and passion.

Asad is a male chauvinist who is regressive and oppressive. He is judgmental and overly condescending in his remarks towards Zoya. And yes, 4lions is going to make Zoya fall for him although in reality it's unthinkable.

But, as a viewer it's important that we express our views. We might be in minority but every view counts.

I have watched the previous 4Lions shows and I agree with you. The male character is always tough and verbally abusive and sometimes even physically abusive toward the female protagonist by shoving them against a wall, grabbing them by the hand and pulling the girl with them and at the end adding an eye lock and just because the main character of the show is doing this to the female protagonist and there is an eye lock at the end people find it "cute and romantic!" Personally, I find it very disgraceful and disgusting. First of all many of the times the female they are harassing are their employee and they could be charged with an harassment case but, furthermore, such things promote the idea that it is okay to push, shove, pull, grab a women and what not because why not? You're a male and the female knows nothing so you use your physical strength to show them your opinion, your anger and how you are right.

I agree we need to voice our opinion because women are not a minority. We the audience are solely the reason for the success of these shows. Of course the actors and creatives put in a lot of effort, however, if we decided not to watch these shows then who would these actors and creatives write the script and perform for. Hopefully, our voice is heard and people give females more respect on television and in life.

I'm sure they will be informed and yeah after things like going through a bad phase she will be pretty unwell/mentally unstable and sooner or later I hope sooner he will change his attitude

very nicely explained...I know the show you have mentioned...believe me there has been numerous protests against the behavior ... And it was very upsetting because it was promoted as passion more so.

Voicing out against crime and atrocities is the only way out...and social media is a good platform specially this forum. Hope the awareness spreads like wildfire.
