So true and completely agree with u dear ...
That is exactly what my point is everyone has a right TI decide and others should listen to it..

Hey thanks for ur valuable inputs ...
Yes I agree with you and also that she wasn't ready and her feelings and choice should have been given the preference rather than ANYHTING else...
Sadly, a girls wishes and her Dreams are always given the least importance ...wish people could change with time.

Zoya is not guilty. Albeit drastic but IMO she took the right decision. She might have convinced herself she could go through marriage for her Aapi's sake however on the day of Nikah she couldn't say yes.

Every girl should have the right to choose her life partner because it's she who is going to spend a lifetime with him, not her parents or any other relatives.

Hey I think u have got out the Crux of the issue..she convinced herself but could not bring herself to get married ...and hence the runaway act .

lets wait and see how Asaad reacts to it...

Hi,

It is a very insightful question that you have raised.

I do not think this can be looked at in a black/white or right/wrong way. Zoya made a decision ' it was hers to make without coercion and she did. She also understood the fallout that occurred and the consequences her decision had. Her family also accepted the effort she made to make amends and forgave her. So why should she be judged and held accountable by people who do not know the complete story? Why should she justify her role in the fiasco to someone just because he is her host?

@bold I could not have worded it better ..thanks for the comments ..and that is why said that once the family forgives...the matter should not be scrutinized

Yes I think its wrong, but Zoya was helpless

She came to India looking for her father, she didnt even know that her Api had fixed her marriage with someone. By saying no, she saved both her life and Akram's from being ruined. I dont think its her fault

Agree with u she wants to Know about her father and she did what she felt would Help her in her mission..

First of all, I love this post. I was actually thinking of starting something like this the moment I saw the episode. But anyways, I think there is more to the story that just Zoya not wanting to marry. Because as far as i understand her, she will not be the kind of person to run away from the marriage crying if she doesn't want to marry and not tell everyone or atleast her sister that she didn't. Sorry, I missed the episodes before the crying scene in red. But I really think that there's more to it like the kidnapping part- maybe those people where after her parents n now the're after her(why wud she b crying like that). But, even if she ran away, i don't get why its such a disgrace to Akram's family bcz if a girl runs away from her marriage isn't it bad on her part n isn't HER family blamed more than the groom's? I don't understand this. But, If it has disgraced Akram n his family, then she should apologize for it which might settle Mr.Zilleilahi's problem. Because even if she wasn't happy with the marriage n has the right to make her own decision n the decision was respected by her own family members, she has to think about the other party too-Akram's family, she should have apologized after the marriage was over which might make Akram happy. But I really feel bad for her that bcz she came from NY she's being doubted like that- n she's not even the typical american types- she talks in urdu(most of the time) cares so much about everyone, n has such a wonderful sister n brother in law. So, how does she become a non-cultured, foreign girl.

Thanks for ur comments and yes there is defo more than what meets the eye...
Why and how is Akram affected and is he really that kind what he appears to be or is just putting up an act..let's wait n watch ...

As for Zoya being misunderstood dear it's just the society and u cant do ANYHTING about the thinking of people ...

I feel that Zoya did what she felt like she had to do. She said in the beginning that she doesn't want o get married until she finds out what happened to her parents. I feel that as a girl you should be able to choose your husband becuase it is a life long commitment. At the same time if you are ok with being married off to someone that your family has chosen than all is well. In Zoya's case she didn't want to get married at that time so I feel that she is not guilty. I just can't wait to see what's going to happen in the later track of Zoya, Asad and Ayan. 😛

I didn't find Zoya's actions bad. Her sister tried to marry her off without letting her know before hand. I would have done the same. Her Aapi and Jiju have forgiven her but boy oh boy Asad is a totally different ball game. Hope Zoya gives it right back to him.
