I am indian kashmiri and I speak punjabi, hindi, dogri and I do understand bit of Urdu as grew up till age of 10 in the region. This urdu is equivalent to sanskrit to me. There are quite a few urdu words people use it every day.

^ Punjabi is my native language so Dogri wouldn't be that hard too understand right? Or is it like a complete different language?

And yes Punjabi Muslims (including jatts) mostly speak Punjabi but apparently the younger generation in Pak doesn't, however in East Punjab everyone knows and speaks Punjabi.

The storyline is about Muslim household, how can you expect the conversation without urdu.

When you do not understand the meaning of the word - we are always there to provide you the meaning.

Learning something new should never be a problem.

There is absolutely no connection between Religion and Language. This is ludicrous. I'm a Muslim, i don't converse in Urdu, and I'm pretty sure many converts don't converse in that language as well. Your almost stating as if speaking Urdu is compulsory for a Muslim 😆

^ So its a kind of dialect of Punjabi like Mirpuri right? Okay I already thought so because I had heard a Pahadi-Dogri or something song a long time ago and it had a lot of Punjabi words but I had to listen really carefully to know what they were singing about as we talk in a different way hehe. Even looks wise there is not a big difference between Kashmiri's, Himachali's and Punjabis LOL :P Hmm that's not really true and you can take that from me, I can say that because most of the people in Pak are from Punjab but still everyone talks in Urdu and my own aunt is West Punjabi and she knows the language but still my cousins and all talk to each other in Urdu. So yeah you're the first Pak Punjabi who I have heard saying that she is proud of her Punjabi roots! Really amazing =)

Whenever I go I hear punjabi no Urdu 😃
Because of the many Sufis who wrote and talked in punjabi
