One interesting point that stood out to me in yesterday's and today's epi about the human mind:
Ishaan's actions are very contradictory as shown in the Layi vi na gayi song. Preet remembers all his moments of care/affection for her, juxtaposed with his hard hitting statement that he loves Meghna. Although Preet is left confused, but the human mind is as such that it ends up remembering the negative incidences, and ends up believing the negative instances (I love Meghna) over the positive ones. This happens a lot in real life too. During trying times, it's hard to keep ourselves optimistic. We end up fearing the worst, and many a times, the negative thought engulfs us more than the positive. From there, stems worry/tension,etc.
Like in today's episode when Preet narrates everything to BM, BM immediately refuses to believe it, and confidently tells Preet how she has seen love for Preet in Ishaan's eyes. This was not just to make Preet feel better, she actually meant it. However, Preet brushes it off. That is so natural of the human mind, because Preet is the one who is affected by Ishaan's behavior, and is emotionally invested in the relationship. BM (though she is right, Ishaan does love Preet) But Preet is unable to keep confidence in this fact. In other words, Ishaan is playing mind games with her. A similar scene was seen in the past as well after the showdown scene ( after Shergill's party). In the Kitchen, BM tells her that Ishaan loves her and is therefore jealous. But Preet once again is not convinced. This happens very often in real life, where human emotions are involved. The person who is directly involved is unable to judge correctly, mainly due to a fear hidden deep within the heart that maybe "the negative" is true.
