Absolutely loved the direction that this story is taking ! finally the concept is clear that it is not Pakistan versus India. It is all done by these radicals to serve their purpose. It was Baba's gang that was single handedly responsible for the death of Ishan and Preet's families. Guess, it was fate and destiny that brought these two together.
Mr. Terrorist has managed to rile up quite a few emotions in Ishan and also guess the cause for Ishan's soft-spot. He definitely has sinister ideas about getting Preet out of the way, and Ishan's growing affection and closeness is only going to put his plans in motion soon. He has understood that Ishan will be a lost cause if Preet is around, and especially now that Rizwan has doubts about being in the mission in the first place.
The scene between IShan and Preet was so beautifully executed, even thought it was so painful and tragic. Hats off for the direction and the writing of that scene. I loved that Ishan was restless about knowing what is it that gives Preet nightmares and out of immense concern he wanted to know whatever it is that Preet is still so affected by, but little did he expect the revelation of that horrid event in her life that has scarred her forever. The quiver in his voice asking her to tell him her past when she got so scared by his touch. That quiver was the ultimate fear in his voice to acknowledge that the woman he loves is so tortured by demons from her past. He was shaking while asking her, because was scared himself of unearthing her truth. And the terror on her face when she asked him to let go of her, had left him shuddering. I loved how Iqbal executed that fear of a husband who is terrified to know of his wife's tragedy.
Mona Singh did a fantastic job today, while recounting the horror and savagery that destroyed her life and family. The sexual assault scene was goosebump-y and was handled very well, without it being overly dramatic or carelessly cliche. I was shaking just trying to understand the psyche of a woman who has experienced a tragedy like this unfolding in front of her own eyes. No wonder Preet is so broken and damaged that even the love for Ishan cannot seem to calm her fears down. It takes years and years of support, love and a sense of security to heal from something like this. She was terrific and proved why she was cast for a challenging role like this! She has a lot more demons to face in the coming episodes, and I could glimpse how well Mona would be able to handle the emotions of a complex and mature woman.
The look on Rizwan's face, when he found out about the truth, was one of trauma. He was left stunned and after processing it for a minute, he was left with gamut of emotions, of anger, of shock, and of immense worry and concern for his wife. He wanted to take her into his arms and tell her it would be ok. IQ was amazing in delivering that medley of emotions on his face. But the next minute was even more of a shocker, when he found out it was baba and his gang who had done this. He looked like he didn't know whether to break someone's face or to cry.
I loved that he went immediately to confront Mr. Terrorist, and threatened him and shook him up. 👏👏 " Meri Biwi ke saath hua tha ye sab, Meri biwi ,Preet, ne apna sab kho diya". And the agony on his face was evident when he was told that he was there too. That moment, he knew, he had lost Preet. He could never justify it.
Rizwan has finally come to know Preet's past and now the bond that ties him to her is even stronger. Right now he thinks he is responsible for what happened, at the same time he understand her better because he realizes they have the same story and they have had the same trauma. If anything, this will only bring them closer. He loves her even more knowing that she lost her family, and she is yet so strong, and he understands that their shared tragedy binds them. Later, they will both realize that their enemy is the same.
I am wondering, if Rizwan was there when this attack happened, he will have to face jail at some point right? I mean, yeah he didn't know what they were really doing, but he knew they killed Captain Vikrant Singh, so he will have to face the music for being a part of that. And now that Vikrant singh is making a come back from the dead, chances are Rizwan's identity is at stake in the Hooda family and for Preet.
I am excited to watch how Ishan tries to heal Preet, and how they get closer, not in the intimate sense, but as two people who have been through the same pain and trauma, and now fully understand each other.
The pace is great of the show and I can't wait to watch more and more!
