Adi 's confession scene was good , now coming to his naivenes.. i really don't know how other way the scene could have been better plus its a situation where there's a shortage of time

now coming to Avantika , her frequency is too fast , her dialogues don't take much time , whether they are normal , of anger or emotion, they are done too quickly... the same goes for her scenes with harish...hope their scenes will get better & happy after the union though i don't think it is coming up soon
the kailsh- sheila medicine scene was quite funny & the way she addressed him bhaisahib was even funnier
sheila 's character is annoying but lookswise she is good.. i have seen some ugly vamps with their yuck dress sense &mannerism, i feel this one is a lot better.. her scenes with priti & avantika are funny

hi Shaksi...how are you?🤗
I am trying very hard to squeeze some time for Paya...any way I can😆... To be quite honest I am not that bothered by Sheila ONLY because she is the only one who is FUNNY... There is no other comic relief in this show... So I am cool with that... I just get impatient when they talk about the same thIngs over and over... Especially since ALL the MUs are predictable...Wish there were more tender moments between the leads...not talking ...sharing DARD doesn't always need talking...sigh...

aah...now I get it ..thanks for making me understand...yes, Sheila now seems more reasonable...😆...also I love the fact she brings comedy which i crave..one reason I liked IPKKND was the comedy...I watched the whole series in 2 weeks in late October last yr. Now watching Qubool Hai...I don't understand the dialect in that one either especially the Shaeri...taking help from my husband who speaks Urdu..That one is quite funny at times and the chemistry between the leads is awesome...the story is bakwaas though...That's why I feel bad for PKDH..nice story...believable characters but the handling of the romance is so so, it's just lukewarm...it could be sooo much better.
Yes Bengali is sweet except when I start to scream at my family at mile a minute MOM language...😆

It's nice to see that even after living thousands of miles away from Bengal, you all are fond of bengali language. BTW I am bengali too. I don't have problems with Sheela being there the only thing that irritates me is her Antaryami nature. Her assosiation with the Kailsah episode is completely illogical.

Shesherkobita or Last poem: Amit an Oxford educated guy comes back and meets Lavanya in Shillong ( it's a hilly area likeKullu)... They are completely opposite in their thought and ideology...they are in love but they eventually marry different people ... Because their love is like an ocean...never ending...The everyday love in a marriage is like water in a jug ...you have to fill it everyday ( work at it)...Tagore wrote this 100 yrs ago... And of course there are many interpretation for a classic like that.. But one line is used the most ( especially at failed attempts of courtship😉) even today: great love doesn't bring you together , it pushes you away ( sacrifice) too.

Expanding Sab's post:

The setting is picturesque Shillong.Amit Ray is Oxford educated and a

high society gent from Calcutta who has a way with words.Indeed he writes

verse and passes it off in the name of one Nibaran Chakraborty.Labanya

Dutt comes from an ordinary background and is highly educated. She is a

strong-willed lady. This novel is about the love between Amit and

Labanya. They are in awe of each other but find their differences in status

difficult to overcome. Its a very lyrical piece of writing completed on June

25,1928 and published the next year. The novel explores the realities of

love as romance and marriage as a meeting of two mature minds. It

questions the importance of the institution of marriage as the ultimate

consequence of a love affair.Love it claims happens for the sake of love

and not to precipitate mundane matrimony.Love is a beautiful thing that is

a gift that can enrich our life for whatever its worth.

The story.Amit Ray is on holiday in Shillong.Amit comes from a wealthy

Calcutta family. One day he meets Labanya Dutt after a car accident. The

two fall in love.Their marriage is fixed by Labanya's employer. However

Amit's former girlfriend from Oxford Katy Mitter appears on the scene. So

does Labanya's former admirer Sobhanlal. The two lovers break up.After

going back Amit sends Labanya a poem.Labanya replies with another

poem.Hence the name 'Shesher Kobita' which means last poem.

Its the best ever novel in any language to come out of Asia perhaps. The

language is very crisp, the presentation lyrical and the novel works your

heart as well as your head.It entertains u and makes you think.

There are many poems inside the book.

"Let your tender touch rest on this bowed head
At the foot of your throne
Wherever you reign in glory,
Let my adoration find a place.?
"

"You and I shall part
and the cleavage shall be hidden
under living grass
and flowers that laugh in the sun. "

" For God's sake, hold your tongue
And let me love".

Amit Ray is the smartest hero in Bengali literature ( considering,

Bangladesh, west Bengal, Assam, Tripura and world}.

The language of the novel is like spearhead, spike but crispy. Amit is

master in playing with words. An example:

Amit : That new moon on the other bank of river Ganges and you and me on this side. This combination will never be repeated in time eternal.

Lili, his friend knew well of his playing with words, answered:

" It's so true that does not need mention.

That frog who just jumped into the water with a bang, will also never be

repeated in time eternal."

One French, three English and one Hindi translation available.
English :
  1. Farewell , My Friend - Krishna Kripalini
  2. The Last Poem - Anindita Mukhopadhyay
  3. Farewell Song - Radha Chakraborty.

Amit and Labanya were not married but this novel is not a tragedy.

To amit, his wife is the nest and his love Labanya is the sky.

Readers asked Tagore, "why did not you have Amit and Labanya come together ?"

Tagore replied, " they wouldn't have been happy together. "

My daughter, who happens to be a literature student commented after reading "Shesherkobita" :

"At age 67, that oldman was sooo romantic, amazing."

I have the bengali ebook. Anybody interested, just pm me with email.

Abhi... I would've never guessed you were Bengali too... I mean.. I never saw you write anything that gave it away...Saibal laughed at me bcos I used to write Gobordhon instead of Govardhan...that gave me away, not to mention the name Shesherkobita...

I would tolerate anything as far as shela Latikha etc goes if they had more PaYa scenes...I can't see how they think...no flashback...no memories... They just keep jabbering away ...whether they are plotting...or confessing love...everything is expressed verbally...
BUT they don't talk when they need to... Like Avantika Harish...😆

No problem Shanthi... You can see the similarities between Amit and Aditya...again Lavanya and Pankhuri... But it ends there... Amit Lavanya decision to part their ways had nothing to do with any MU... It's a beautiful novel...

I didn't stick with Revenge for lack of time...cause me and my daughter were glued to science fiction at that time...Terranova, The River, Fringe ( all created to fill the void left by LOST)..they all ended..people don't like science fiction much..Revenge is a big hit.Your post is still going strong,108 pages. Shanthi, type "RabbaVe on piano". On YT..it will fill your heart ...this kid plays all the BG scores on piano...my daughter promised me she will learn the tune
