Its a very serious question.

If u have read this thread from the start, you will find that, I was chatting with Anu and Shanthi in the morning regarding a different forum.
I was really invited and joined the discussion and within few minutes felt that the forum is very hot.
My friends there are more bored than us regarding their serial.
I am rarely very serious. But, expressed my opinion there, that we like this garbage, that is why the CV's feed it to us. If we don't like, we won't watch, TRP will go down. So we, the viewers are supposed to dictate the terms.
In the afternoon, news was published that Starplus has given ultimatum to the producer that if the TRP does not reach atleast 3 within 3 weeks, the show will be withdrawn.
question is - will we eat this garbage or not.

Shanthi, it's just humor.

Sometimes our exchanges are more entertaining than the episode itself.

That is sooo true... Most of the times, especially when the torture of the LSV is on I read the Forum topics before going to the written update. Almost always I never watch the episode - neither on TV nor online. If the episode has been raved about by the Forum friends then I try to catch up... So its true... The exchanges are funnier and more entertaining than the serial itself...

Lovely discussion on TRPs and viewerships people.

The thing is viewers like Sabi and me who don't live in India are also the losers out in the TRP race. We tend to like things which the normal TRP contributor to whom I suppose kitchen politics fascinates does not. So inspite of the fact that online viewers and international viewers are becoming bigger in the scheme of things, the are still a non entity when it comes to the real world of income generated by advertising, so they lose out anyway.

If you watch the serial on TV, you still contribute to TRP in an indirect way.

Because that show airs Ads also.

You constitutes a part of target audience.

Whenever any show is produced, may it be film or serial, the producers think of the overseas / NRI's also.

(Because of Ad in case of serial.)

So don't worry, Shanthi, you are a legitimate LSV.
