I love my 9 year old daughter. Sometimes she talks mature... "there should be stricter gun control. NRA (National Rifle Association) cannot be stronger than Congress" Then there are other days... like when I went for a parent-teacher meeting... 4 teachers looking down at me and requests me to ask my daughter to stop telling inappropriate bathroom jokes! How bad can it be I wonder.. Let me share one of the better ones with you (my apologies first)..."what is farty plus farty" "No it's not 80; it's too farty & too smelly" 🤢 I look in horror...this cannot be my kid . There must've been a hospital mix-up after birth!!!! Did my sweet little girl get possessed by a potty mouth boy? Is this just a milestone? a phase? or maybe peer pressure?...don't know...😕
You might wonder why I'm talking about my daughter. Well she reminds me of my beloved show PKDH; both of whom I love to the core. I love PKDH for the intricate yet simple love story. I pine for the Kullu days...straight shooter city guy Adi mesmerized & intrigued by the optimistic sincere loving nature of the small town girl Pankhuri... Both learning things from each other and in the process falling irrevocably in love...how mature is their conversation... so mature that we feel the dysfunctional couple Harish & Avantike can learn a thing or two from them. Their struggle with relationship is stewarded by Nanaji & Dadaji with dialogues truly comparable to pearl of wisdom. What beautiful portrayal. They fill my heart with warmth 👏
Then there is a split side of PKDH... where Latika in BROWN make-up screams assault...anyone can wipe that make-up off!! Pankhuri is assaulted by her boss; Adi saves her (Yeay) but no complaint is lodged!! Sheela mami creates lunatic plots; one after another but gets away every time. Now I've heard a set of goons will attack Avantika & Nana and Pankhuri will turn into Shaktiwoman to save them (gulp)! Most illogical plot comes from Nana in the story - Pankhuri must unite their Tennenbaum family...it is chanted over & over as the main purpose of the protagonist's life at this juncture! But the best one is Avantika's shart - no "conversation" between Adi & Pankhuri. There are many accepted clause & by-laws in this shart 101... one can call & hear each other's voice over phone but can't talk; one can touch across glass doors but can't talk; one can go to court to provide financial & moral support but can't talk...and these somehow fulfills the shart ! I wonder if their heads were covered by veil (and they didn't talk); whether they would be allowed to kiss & cuddle? Technically this wouldn't go against this bizarre shart.
Don't get mad at me... I am not a neigh-sayer. I realize these weird plots are to get the story ahead. I also learned high drama is needed for TRPs! I struggle but I accept. I love PKDH unconditionally (this is my first Hindi serial) and I am here to cheer on (albeit rather timidly) when Pankhuri pepper-sprays the goons ...and I hope that soon PKDH will show the other side of it's split personality... the side I like.
The same way I hope my daughter will show her intelligent side sometime again soon. Also there were 24 other kids born on that day in that hospital. It will not be possible for me to figure out if she was switched at birth or not 😲. Besides I love her too much to even think about a day without her (bathroom jokes or not)... if only she could tone it down a bit.
