This is for all the lovely (not!) readers out there who seem to have taken the writers of the forum for granted.
This is not a joke post, so please don't take it as such. This is a serious matter.
We are aware that many of you are busy. But speaking from personal experience it takes a little more than a second to click on the Like button, and about two to three minutes to type out two lines.
It's not that writers don't have lives. Many of us have extremely busy and hectic schedules. Yet we still try our level best to write and complete out works.
Put yourself in the shoes of someone who writes. We slave away for hours at a chapter, checking everything, just to make it presentable. We get nothing from this. All we seek is that our readers at least like and comment in such a way that we know that they have read the update.
But we don't even get that from the people who have asked us to PM them.
What would be the logical conclusion? That we are not good writers.
As a reader and a writer, I am both saddened and angered by the apathy of those who apparently read SS/FFs of this forum, which can be seen by the number of views, but do not even bother to like or comment.
Some people bless us with their two word comments which mean, literally, nothing because it gives no hint that you have read the chapter.
What is especially saddening is that many of my dear friends- in fact, most of them, I should say- are so discouraged by the lack of response that they want to quit.
I am not pinpointing anyone. But it is a fact that it is when readers READ your updates and comment as though they have really read it, instead of writing monotonous replies, that is when someone wants to write.
A lot of people don't seem to give two hoots about giving feedback, though.
And this is exactly why many writers these days are not updating so frequently. Asking them to update soon is not the answer, commenting when they update is!
As a reader and I writer, I feel horribly frustrated and depressed when I see the number of likes reduce to almost half after the first page. Not only that, but seeing the word-to-word same comments after every chapter regardless of the update(which incidentally, many writers put a lot of effort in)
If such a situation comes to pass that all of the writers quit, then I hope the whole lot of you will be happy when this forum is robbed of the many talented writers here who will never write here anymore.
And this is already happening.
