"THAT'S MY DAD IN THERE!"

"Mr. Oberoi, please calm down. I can assure you, your father is in our best hands," one of the doctors assured Siddharth trying to restrain him while dabbing the area around his swollen eye with antihistamine ointment. Siddharth pushed his hand away and grabbed the collar of his apron pulling him closer.

"You better be sure of that or it won't be long before I make sure those so called best hands are rendered useless," he spoke through gritted teeth menacingly and though it hurt him to keep his eyes open he did not blink. The poor harassed doctor started sputtering and looked away but Siddharth forced him to look at him.

"I am sure you got the message doc," he told him with a deadly serious look that assured the doctor he meant business.

"Mr. Oberoi… we… we are… trying… our best," the doctor stammered and tried to pry Sid's hands off him.

"Sid let go of him!" he heard a familiar voice and a moment later he did much against his will but he made no attempt to stop the person who was loosening his grip on the doctor.

The doctor scurried out of his office and sent a nurse in to tend to Siddharth's wounds but Siddharth dismissed her from the room.

"You shouldn't have done that," Abhay told Siddharth sternly.

"Done what? And where the hell have you been?" he asked him impatiently wincing at the same time.

"Here, have this," Abhay snapped at him thrusting the cotton swab dabbed with medicine unceremoniously into his hand. Sid promptly threw it aside and walked out of the clinic hurling a string of profanities at nobody in particular. Siddharth's bodyguards made to follow after him but Abhay stopped them in their tracks.

Siddharth took the fire escape and came outside the hospital. Ever since he had caught the news segment on the incident at the airport he had been a wreck. He had not been himself since then.

"Siddharth wait," Abhay called after him running and turned him but Sid pushed him away.

"What the hell is wrong with you Sid?" Abhay snapped at Sid. It hadn't been easy for Abhay either. What with both DO and his father fatally injured, fighting for their lives left him with no other choice than to take charge. He knew Sid would blow things up rather than compose himself in this difficult hour. As it is, he had already done the honours.

"What the hell is wrong with me now, huh?" Siddharth bellowed at him.

"You tell me bro. My dad is fighting for his life out there while the bas***d who did that is probably enjoying have a f***ing good time! Look at the audacity they have shown this time! They had the nerve to plant a bomb just outside our mansion and we let them get away with it!"

"And attacking an officer on duty was the solution for our problem? Do you even realise the implications your actions will bear on all of us right now?" Abhay yelled back at Sid and shook him hard.

"That man was not letting me get through, ok? And dad. Dad was…. Chand uncle too… I swear I will make sure I will blow all their f***ing brains off. Dad… he is….. do you even know….? He was close by when the blast happened. They… they are saying… Its more 70% Abhay… Dad… dad may not…" Siddharth could not continue after and he was shaking violently. Abhay hugged Sid trying to calm him down and pulled back and gripped Sid by his shoulders.

"Siddharth buddy, we will nail them. I swear to you, whoever it is, they will not get away with what they have done. But we can't afford to screw up now bro," Abhay tried assuring Sid who looked like a demented soul. The only other time Abhay had seen Sid in such a vulnerable state was when Reva had walked out on them.

"Siddharth listen to me," he told him looking him in the eye. "Whoever it was, they wanted to break us down and now if we don't get a grip, we will only give them what they want. They knew with DO uncle out, we will be an easy target for them. They think they have wiped the Oberois out but we need to show them who we are. We will bounce back and when we do, it will be payback time for them. But right now, you need to focus buddy. We are in this together. I will not them get to you, no matter what."

Siddharth looked up into Abhay's icy blue eyes once and nodded his head slowly.
