I know the entire forum is quite shocked with the news that Star One is ending all its shows and going to become Star Desh in September, but guys I have some logics and facts according to which this news does not seem to be completely true and I would like you to consider before jumping to conclusion
1. The article mentions that all shows will come to their logical end before revamp, but except YIH and DLMH no other show is near its logical end and the article says that DLMH will be last to go off air and RBO, which is seeing new twists currently will be first to go off air.
2. The article says Geet will be third show to go off air and since revamp is starting from September, then that would mean that Geet would end before that. But pls check out indya.com and there Star One has itself confirmed that Geet is not ending anytime in near future and is going to see many more twists and turns. 3. PKYEK being highest TRP grosser, will logically be the last to go off air. If Geet is not ending anytime in near futurem then PKYEK is not likely to end.
4. It does not make a sound business sense for any business channel to go for a complete revamp in one go or in a short span of 2 months as then there is a high risk of losing existing audience and not able to gain new audience. Even if a channel plans a revamp, it makes more sense if they do it over a phased manner spanning 6months-1 year so that existing viewers can get addicted to new shows and new viewers are also added.
5. At one point we keep getting news of Ekta making Fashion for Star One, then tell me will she do that if her other show is brought to such an abrupt end. Also, Star ONe offered Ekta Fashion because they liked her work on PKYEK, so once again does not makes sense to end PKYEK.
6. To support my point I will take the example of the most common detergent bar Rin. It took a big company like HUL over 3 years after taking over the brand to change its name from Rin to Surf and they ran the renaming campaigns for 6 months before dropping Rin altogether, because they did not want to lose the loyal customers of Rin. so in business decisions like this, loyalty of existing customers is the first and foremost consideration.
