I believe the director just want to catch more viewers, thinking same like DMG, but when they killed AArman, and all viewers which them to see again, the story track was changed and finally need to over the program.
they just extending the track, it is copied from twilight and Vampire Diaries but in this both they still showed the love of both lovers.
