For me two things that were my

Absolute Favorites:

1. The pure father-daughter love between Malhar Rao and Ahilya, who were the best buddies

2. Khanderao's character graph uptil now. In the first episode of the show he looked like an absolute bully, like when he tortured the horse. But with each passing episode he showed a new layer and we got to know that he still has a good heart. Even though he still show his bully side sometimes, like the flower incident with Ahilya, but if provided good companionship and guidance probably he will be able to let go of his wayward nature completely, and overcome his inferiority complex.

Things that I dislike about this show:

1. Zaveri- Samdhi: I absolutely hate this duosmiley11 Dwarkabai is still grey and has a boundary for her actions, but this duo have crossed the boundary long back.

2. I hated the battle sequence shown in the festival ( don't remember the name of it). The sword fighting and the overall war like scenario was very poorly executed.

Edit: Remembered the festival, it was vasant Panchami

Two things I liked in the show

1. MR- GB relationship.

Their bonding is very naturally portrayed where a couple has normal agreements, disagreements but the respect and affection they hold for each other is beautiful. The lovely part of their bond shown is though at many points they have disagreements, they do consider and wait for the outcome and not bring in the differences in opinions to affect their bond.

2. Ahilya- Mankoji.

Ahilya is Ahilya due to Mankoji’s thoughtfulness, wisdom and humbleness. It’s seen her mom did fear the societal norms but Mankoji still prioritised his ideology and stood his ground for his beliefs. This made Ahilya too think out of the box and ponder the discrimination etc of the societal norms and also be courageous ….to be determined to fight out for the rights.

Things I did not like:

1. The harassment kind of an atmosphere created by the Saas Fauj on the poor kid Ahilya and marching an attack on her with allegations.

2. The vacuum and yearning for affection in KR’s life for a father. MR loves him dearly but sadly he doesn’t make it obvious to KR. He needs to work and open up his emotions and show KR how dear he is to him.

Okayyy so things which I like are -

1. Malhar Rao and Harku Bai dynamics❤️. I absolutely love how despite of huge age gap they both connect and understand each other. The love , admiration and respect Harku carries in her eyes for MR is soo beautiful. The way MR takes Harku's opinion reflects how high thinks of her and never neglects her due to the wide age gap.

2. Khanderao's character graph. He has all the realistic human nature inside him. All he needs is little love and trust from people around him. The moment Ahilya said she trusts him that he will always be there for her & protect her things changed for him. Her words were like a ray of hope for him to which he wants to hold on and that's why he is trying to be there for her.

Things through which I'm disappointed or dislike at times are -

1. Poor use of Bana Bai. She is supposed to be fun element on show but poor chap gets only minimal screenspace. The character has potential to be fan favourite if used properly.

2. At times Ahilya's normal tone (Aditi's voice) turns into screeching which is irritating at times.

Things I liked

1. Tukoji & Khanderao : true brothers who support and make other a better person! Their bond is really heartwarming. ❤️

2. Tukoji & Ahilya, Malharrao : they respect him so much and it is mutual. Tukoji is a very talented and good at heart, and his smile reflects his beauty and intellect. Ahilya and Malharrao both share a beautiful bond with him.

Things I don't like so much (I don't wike it😆)

1. The scheming against Ahilya.. a 9 y-o is your opponent, really? Do better.

2. The dumbing of characters to show Ahilya better than the others.. she is good but don't "goddessify" her at the cost of other characters, nobody is perfect. She has her own set of flaws but makers trying to make her typical ITV bahu 🤔

Great game Sree!🤗

Even though I quit watching the show, I'll just base it off on what I had observed so far. LOL, sorry didn't notice this until now. 😆

Coming to the game:

Liked

-Ahilya and her relationship with MR & Mankoji. Both encouraged her to take chalaangs despite perplexing wali vibes from her mother (passively) and MIL (aggressive or passive-aggressive). At least they sustained a good bond between the male figures in Ahilya's life (excluding KR).

-Ahilya and Tukoji. They both bonded very well. Again, even though it is fictional here and sometimes used as a prop to meddle the situation with KR. At least their relationship was sweet and nice to see.

Dislike (I think you guys pretty much said it because my list of cons of the show is larger than the pros)

-Pretty much the pacing and making the tracks more OTT and dramatized when they were unnecessary. It would've been better if they made historical shows as finite shows if they can't handle loopholes in the history as opposed to making characters delusional.

-Butchering of the characterization & glorifying characters as perfectionists.

Things I like about the show:

  1. What I like the most about PAB show is little Ahilya's true feminist nature which we can hardly see in any tv shows. I toally admire her ability to question on any subject/old traditions which no one around her would have guts to ask/think. Her demand for gender equality even during those times when women were considered much inferior to men is itself praiseworthy.
  2. Ahilya's friendly relationship with Harku Bai & Malhar Rao Holkar are my favourites. During her initial days, when she had difficulties in adjusting at the royal palace and no one including MR could help her much, HB was always there for her as a friend and made her feel comfortable in that unknown place. I wish they would explore their relationship further in the upcoming episodes. Also, I have found Ahilya's "pakkampakki dosti" with MR too adorable right from the beginning. In spite of being a FIL, he never behaved like a one in front of Ahilya. His strong faith in her abilities (he was the one who thought that she has that ability to bring a positive change in KR which he/GB failed to do) and decisions is completely amazing.

Things I dislike about the show:

  1. Gautama Bai treating a 9 y/o kid like some adults and expect her to do stuffs way beyond her age and behave like a grown up just because she is married to her dear son.
  2. War/political stuffs are rarely shown here, even if they were shown somehow, they've been executed very inappropriately.

I agree with the execution. Predominantly, the show was just kitchen politics. Education track was terribly handled for a multitude of reasons but primarily due to discrepancy with factual information over Ahilya being educated prior to her getting hitched & elongating & intertwining with the ongoing kitchen politics.

Don't get me wrong, there were things that I learned which I didn't know even existed such as the quiz thing, bits about education conversation between KR & Guruji, the testing of KR as the next subhedaar. But it just got badly handled that I honestly fed up.

Yes, it's a major point. There's a big vaccum in between KR and MR, only MR can bridge the gap. Although MR realises his mistakes, we have rarely seen him working on it.
