Good essay Prityanka...quite practical thinking I would say - all we want is a good channel, good concept, good PH, greater erxposure - all these goodness rolled into ONE could be difficult but yes - preferably - majority of those goodness... am pretty sure about the concept and the role - would definately be different and entertaining - coming from KS...as we all know of her choice.. ..Yes Prityanka - would love KS to participate in dance shows - for the sake of brushing up (as we all saw GC coming out as an excellent dancer after JDJ) - and for us to see her in variety form of dance...infact hosting the show or taking part in comedy show of Kapil will be a treat to watch.

Anu - emotions are not to be controlled unless if you are NOT sure that you will be taken care of --- by lovely members of our forum...and I loved what u said - and enjoyed reading it - coming from u..😊

Arrreee.....Forgot to say one more thing😳 There was a post on main forum about PV to dub in Arabic...yayyy!!!!! For the first time I visited that FB page of ZEE Amlan and it was more like one KS FB fan page😆😆 98% of posts are related to her and 90% of comments are on her. I didn't understand the language there but from some avtaars, numbers of likes and comments related to her post and some voting English numbers I am assure that she is indeed THE QUEEN OF HEARTS in middle east as ZA article published some days back.

And you know...most of them are fan of her only after seeing her JKR Avtaar and not have much clue about her role in PV. Not many followed PV online from there and waiting it to be telecast on their screen. I am just trying to image their reaction after watching JKR KS in Aarti's avataar. Hope she will gain more and more fame here after. BTW...How will it be an event like SA in Arab??😉

Looks like I missed out on a lot of wonderful posts! Fascinating to read the discussion about the pros/cons of certain channels, everyone! 👏
A week ago, I was revisiting the forum of a show that I used to watch a few years ago, and going through a lot of the posts reminded me of the unpredictability of this game between channel executives and production houses...Even if there is a show with a strong story, excellent directors, and superlative actors, sometimes because of the "unconventional" content/treatment of the show's premise, the channel doesn't really promote the show very much...instead, after initial promotions, the channel just reverts to promoting its old favorites, while giving other shows "stepchild" treatment. In spite of that, if a show defies the channel's expectations and makes a place in the viewers hearts and does really well, then perhaps the channel will give more importance to it...or maybe it won't. It seems like a bit of a gamble from that perspective. Then again, that hasn't stopped a few writers from sticking to their convictions and coming up with good stories. Even if there are a few such writers out there, at least there are some!

On a slightly unrelated note...I saw the little promos for Tumhari Paakhi on YT, and as with the promos for PV, the music caught my attention, and then I found out later that the LifeOK site had posted an entire song for promotional purposes. Naturally, I watched it...I haven't really seen Iqbal or Shraddha act much, but I've heard a lot of good things about Iqbal, and Shraddha is probably growing as an actor with every new project she does...Anyway, I brought up that show mostly because the Mittals' production values have constantly been impressing me - the fact that they create songs that are so well thought out in relation to their stories is something that I love immensely. Then there's the way that they shoot those songs (and those PV promos, can't ever forget the beauty of all of those!), on such a large scale in a very artistic manner...They do stand out amid all the same-old-stuff on TV. Even though they have their trademarks like any other PH, their shows seem to have different feels to them.

I don't know if I'll watch new shows, but I hope whatever fiction offers Kratika gets have a balance of good writing, a good production team, and a supportive channel.

I wonder which show you're talking about Borna. I found myself nodding in agreement with your entire post. The step-child treatment vs favoritism seems to be something no show is spared from. I remember when Punar Vivah was doing well (before the entire digitisation mess), many people from other forums felt that our show was promoted excessively. I guess you can't blame a channel for promoting a show that does well - at the end of the day, it's money that matters to them.
I hear you on wanting a good team to work with Kratika as well as a good script! I'm not doubting the script, knowing Kratika, she is surely going to choose a good script! :)

It's funny that you mentioned Tumhari Paankhi. They are showing a preview of Life OK here in Singapore so I was watching the shows on that channel and happened to catch the promo of Tumhari Paankhi. Though I'm still not quite impressed with Shraddha, the show does seem interesting. It strangely reminded me of Saraswatichandra though! This show is by the Mittals right?

@bold: That is true...But there are some shows that keep getting the benefits, probably because they were the initial TRP-pullers for the channel - even if their current story is going haywire or is nonexistent...And there are others that can pull in the numbers if promoted well, because they genuinely have a great story to tell and a wonderful ensemble cast...but those shows sometimes don't get their due from the channel. Very true about the "money matters" angle. Can't really blame them for that, I guess. I wish there was a way to balance creative vision with monetary benefit...

About Kratika, yeah, I'm sure she'll pick the best of the crop of offers...and that's why I have no qualms waiting it out.

Tumhari Paakhi is by SSP, yes. The music, as always, was a magnet for me! 😆 If nothing else, I'll wait to see what the variations of the Aaja Dhola theme are when the show airs, because it is quite pretty in the promos. The folk song (there was an article about it earlier) was shot very well. So many colors and stunning shots! As expected, because this is the Mittals' team we're talking about. Ah, the letter and the desk would conjure up memories of the Saraswatichandra promos a little bit, right? I actually didn't think of that until just now.

So true! I guess there's something called channel loyalty as well. There are some shows which have been going on for years and perhaps the channel too knows that the storyline no longer makes any sense but as long as viewers continue to watch those shows and the shows can bring in good numbers for the channel, the backing continues. I wish there was a way in which those shows with potential were given a chance. I think some channels look into international viewership as well. For example, Saraswatichandra isn't doing that great in terms of TRPs but it's doing really well in the UK so Star is still giving the show a chance. I wish Zee did the same. I think I have mentioned it before - when PV-ZMD was on air, they used to show the entire week's episodes in one go on Saturdays. Before Punar Vivah, it was Pavitra Rishta but once the new season started, they started showing Jodha Akbar instead. I guess it depends on which show is most watched by people here so it's pretty much obvious that our show was actually doing really well in Singapore. As for Tumhari Paankhi's title track, I have got to listen to it. Gotta give it to the Mittals for coming up with such be amazing soundtracks. Heard Sunidhi has sung the title track?
