This Made me to remember my school days where bunch n bunch of my classmates run to their Hostels to watch RAMAYAN at 11.00 AM in TAMIL just to Watch Mr.Choudhary as RAM...Sad Part i dont watch Ramayan as I was in my 12th grade...even i dont know who is GC...but my frnds were GAGA Over RAM of Ramayana...still Many are Adoring him as RAM...
n Now in ma college...LOLZ My frnds advising me to Watch Marumanam (Tamil version of Punar Vivah) as the story n the leads were too Good n Amazing...!!They dnt know tat iam a crazy Fan of PV... ;)

So ppls Accept it GC is Well known as RAM, MAAN, YASH(RAJESH) n as GC...

Very well said! 👏👏 I live in the US so I don't have any school friends who were obsessed with Ramayan, as they were all American. 😆 But I know that my relatives in India loved it. In fact, my grandmother was the first one to recommend it to me. She said the actors who played Ram and Sita were so attractive, and that she doesn't know their names but she thinks the director was a genius in casting them. The problem is that Gurmeet Choudhary's name was unknown during Ramayan, because that's just the way with mythological serials, but he as a person was very much known and loved. Directors prefer to keep the actors under wraps while shooting, because he wants people to see them as Gods, not as actors, or else people cannot connect with the religious story like they do with fictional soaps. That is why mythological serials don't have too many SBS or offscreen interviews with actors. Nowadays they are getting more offscreen attention, but if you compare with fictional soaps, the actor's name is not released until the show is well on its way. That doesn't mean the show or actor is unpopular. It's just the way with mythological soaps. Anyway, Ramayan had TRPs between 2-4 for a good solid year so no one can claim it was unpopular.

Youngsters like us had a computer during Gurmeet's Ramayan days to find out his name and biography, but I remember it was still quite difficult because most of Gurmeet's personal information was not known until Ramayan was over. It was only during Pati Patni aur Woh did Gurmeet get known as a person. 😳

I don't think he'll be an antagonist, because both the heros are supposed to be best friends, but I feel that Gurmeet won't get the heroine in the end. It might be the other hero, so his character might have a sad ending. 😕
