Excellent post. Yes there are the seedlings of redemption. Unfortunately there will be a division, or as you say a temporary loss or sacrifice, which is the collateral for SP's deeds and part of the process/journey of the redemption.
I can understand how you feel about this lack of taking responsibility, esp on SP's part. When one is a dharmic person, such depiction of continued unaccountability and lack of remorse can be very jarring and thereby difficult to assimilate. Unfortunately, people like SP and G3 are archetypes of people who take their own sweet time to come around and walk on the path of dharma (sometimes they might only achieve it in the next life!) . This does not mean that one has to succumb the pressure of being correct/perfect all the time, as SP thinks he should. To be able to embrace one's fallibility with gentleness is the greatest gift of all. As Mark Twain once said, it is okay to make plenty of mistakes as long as one makes it a point to make new mistakes every time. Om shantih
