@Indu: Guess who just updated her comment post on page 4? 😊
I'm off to read the other long comments now! I was holding off on reading them until I wrote out at least some of my thoughts. (Edit: Hmm. After looking through the other comments, I think I might have been the only one who went the "long comment" route...)
Thank you for such a sweet response to my reserved post from beforehand! I hope some of the comments that are now there make even a tiny bit of sense...🤔

@Borna: First, a big and the tightest of hugs for your words. 🤗
I am not going to thank you, my friend...because the pleasure you gave me with this extensive array of word strokes is beyond a mere thanks. You made me once again feel the emotions I felt when I was writing this piece...thus, I am really honored. I told Maham how I wrote this in one go...without any prior planning or mulling. By now you understand fully well how I write...I cannot write unless I feel. That's just me...and that is what makes me so unsure, so insecure too. Because the main intent of a writer should be that whatever he or she writes should go across as clear as a daylight to the reader...otherwise it's pointless. And that's exactly where lies my major drawback...I leave a lot for the readers to read between the lines, a burden the reader should never be burdened with.😳

So, it was simply overwhelming to have you feeling with my heart...to understand exactly what I tried to portray within the constraint of wordiness an OS allows. In doing so you erased the biggest doubt I had...which is that, did this leave the reader with an incomplete feeling? Yes, in that sense I have much to thank you for. Cause now even if I think of a sequel, I won't carry a baggage from this one. Lastly, you literally stole my heart with the write up. I had this feeling of deja vu and felt goosebumps in almost all the instances that you highlighted with your beautiful expressions...and in doing so you made Our Promise so very special!!

I am not sure what has given me more satisfaction at the end of this maiden experience: the OS itself or the love and appreciation expressed by everyone here?

@Indu: "I cannot write unless I feel..." I am exactly the same way, my friend! Most people who have read anything I've written probably know that very well by now - and I completely understand what you mean when you speak of being insecure about conveying your emotions and thoughts to an audience, because that is something I face whenever I sit down to write my own long posts about episodes. I'm sure you've noticed that I write only when I'm emotionally driven to do so. With those impulses comes a lot of uncertainty...But still, this place is a wonderful outlet, and I'm so grateful that it has introduced me to so many wonderful writers!
You have such a way with words that even if there are spaces between the lines, everything comes together beautifully at the end! I honestly was writing from the heart, as I always do, when I responded to your OS, and it was very, very hard for me to stop...Everything was so poignant and very much like poetry in prose form! That's why I'm at such a loss for words to reply to your reactions about me "feeling with your heart" and understanding what you wanted to convey. That sort of comment, coming from you, is praise of the highest order for someone like me. I truly don't know what to say to that, except that your posts always reach out and touch my heart when I read them, whether they're about the show's episodes/characters or fictional pieces...I suppose we feel and perceive things through similar lenses in that sense...
Did you leave the reader with an incomplete feeling? Absolutely not, in my opinion! Except for the fact that I would love to read a sequel (or just about anything you come up with, really) sometime in the future because I felt that this would be a lovely story to expand into something longer than just a oneshot. I would have loved to see Aarti's reaction and the interactions between Yash, Aarti, Ansh, and Palak. But the decision to write anything, of course, is up to you!
Lots and lots of love to you, dearest friend!

Sorry to butt in unceremoniously but I was reading you ladies' wonderful conversation and if I may, Indu (of course correct me if I am wrong), I think this may be the editor in you undermining the writer. Anyone can describe a setting or a situation with words, but to make the reader actually feel with the characters is a rare gift, and one that you possess in abundance! For me, all good art comes from deep feeling, a feeling which is so strong that it overflows into a creative medium, in your case your words, but it could be anything from painting to music. And it is that art that makes the viewer/reader feel with the artist what they are trying to convey, because their art is nothing but an extension of their feelings. And I guess that might be part of the reason we (yes, me too!) feel so vulnerable putting our writing out there because we are putting a part of ourselves, our deep and most moving feelings with relation to PV out there for people to judge.

There is a place where writing has to be clear as day, and it's called academia (hate. footnotes.) 🤢. As a foil, I love fiction that can say so much by leaving it unsaid and make you understand something through feeling rather than cognition. So your writing is not unclear, but rather stokes the imagination in what it leaves unsaid, as only the best writing does.

I hope I didn't embarrass you with this Indunama,😆 but I truly meant every word! 😃

@disha: Thank you. That illustration is such a sweet gesture...🤗

@Borna: Oh I completely understand what you say, dear friend...and I respect the fact that you only write for those songs or those episodes that you strongly feel about...that's why they end up being such rare gems. The inspiration just shines through those.

There's another thing I cannot agree more...everyone here has the highest level of acceptance. Each writer here has a different style, which is never frowned upon...only accepted and appreciated, and if disagreed with left alone...but never put down. 👍🏼

Thanks for the vote of confidence...love you back n-fold...🤗

@Samana: Ha..ha..ha...You caught me there my friend. Indeed the editor frowns upon the abstract writer...no, make it dies a thousand deaths at seeing the style the latter writes in. ( If I let so many ellipses in a single para pass through in a manuscript, I'll lose my job the very next day😛.)

<<And I guess that might be part of the reason we (yes, me too!) feel so vulnerable putting our writing out there because we are putting a part of ourselves, our deep and most moving feelings with relation to PV out there for people to judge. >>...*Sigh* This is so, so true...It's a kind of exposure..,and as such when one lays bare, one's bound to be self-conscious. Wow...talk of riding the same wavelength!!!

Thank you for the Indunama...you are a great one in restoring confidence. You are spot on on the vulnerability factor. Funnily, (and I am sure you and Borna feel the same) I am never a prisoner of indecision as to what I want to put in when I start writing...the will they/won't they comes later, although I don't remember a single occasion when someone has pointed out, "Indu, what the hell was that? It just washed over my face." And again...I guess I wait for the day when someone actually does that and the editor gets its day out in the sun in DC for once..😃

@Anusha: Thanks Anu.🤗 I am glad you liked it. This was a first attempt in solo story writing...I guess it came with a responsibility of its own. DC is home...I am on familiar grounds there.😃
