Very clever titling...
@ Samanalyze: Loved your analysis…To a viewer, it can be incredibly frustrating to see Aarti's inability to engage in sensible conversation with anyone other than Shobha. With Shobha, Aarti manages to have open, trusting, and honest talks. Even with Mansi , there seems to be more of listening than a fair exchange, and sure enough, Mansi is quite confident of her views and opinions while Aarti is unsure. This could also be due to her social isolation because of the divorce and she sees Mansi as her window to the society.
Based on the conversation, it seemed that for Aarti, the life with P was a dream beyond her imagination. And for P, having come from a fairly a secure location (great parents, own house, only child and a son at that), the ability to 'manipulate' Aarti's vulnerability, probably gave him a high. But after marriage, he might have viewed Aarti as perhaps a sort of clingy and cloyingly sweet wife - a model of the 'perfect' wife and clearly, no longer vulnerable as she once had been. And it must have galled him that his wife had his parents' support more than he did. And this was all due to him. Thus might have begun the emotional distancing where P, the cad that he is, chose to deal with it by not dealing with it.
Kratika was incredible in this episode. Her understated acting and subtle responses have to be seen to be believed. She is so perfect for this role. In this episode, two of her facial expressions stood out for me. 1. Her nod indicating that she's well in response to Prashant's question, when nothing about her situation indicates that, and her cautious anticipation of what will follow. 2. When P initiates the conversation by asking/saying the exact same things that she had dreamt about – her look, albeit fleeting, was one of satisfaction that conveyed how right she had been and that the conversation was going to go exactly as she had envisioned. As the talk progressed, the desperation she felt of the very little time she had, before things become irreversible, was brought out so well by her.
