I love that they focused more on Yash's family today and we only had those brief scenes of unwanted things like Shobha being paranoid (though with good reason) and Mansi's Mantras. But even that was refreshing today because Aarti told Mansi to back off and ignored her physically though the fears are still playing on her mind. To her Yash is just another thing, like basketballs and chocolate ice cream that she is getting her son. She doesn't yet realise her role in this whole arrangement. And Mansi's last line was strangely prophetic. She said that Mansi would not be able to take what Yash does after marriage and although Mansi had her usual on her mind, I think that will come true. Yash's kindness and goodness is going to overwhelm Aarti to the point that she won't be able to dislike or misunderstand him, no matter how much she tries.
It was sweet to see how excited Prateek was about the wedding but Yash is lost in thoughts of how disgusting he must seem in Aarti's eyes. I just love how Prateek doesn't mind Yash's glares and coldness one bit and just goes on with his chatter. I also loved Yash's amused, indulgent smile when Paridi calls and Prateek asks for his permission. 😆 Ah the things that GC can do with his eyes alone and not a single word!
I also thought the contrast between the two couples at the mall was great. Prateek calls Paridi to the mall to go shopping because for them their wedding is sort of their "happy ending" and they are preparing for that as though it is the ultimate event in their lives. So everything is deliberate and planned and eagerly awaited. Also, it shows how much Prateek thinks things can be perfect in their relationship when he calls her to choose her own clothes and his. However, in ArYa's case, neither of them are too concerned with the wedding. Aarti does not even want to hear the date and Yash is least interested in shopping. Both of them are clearly more interested in their kids and spending time with them. BUT it is this very common interest that allows destiny to bring them together. Prateek has to call Paridi and wait for her, which shows the issues that may arise later, while ArYa are in the same place purely through fate, which shows their inevitable union through their devotion to the kids.
Vidhi is such a sweetheart with her MIL and it shows that Gayatri really does trust her but they are really building this bhulakkad thing up a lot so I look forward to seeing how they handle it. And they brought out an interesting dimension to Vidhi-Pankaj today. So they are a middle-aged couple who is facing a slump in their own romance thanks to the heavy burden that Vidhi has to handle as the only bahu of the house. I can't really fault her but P's expression when she dropped the invitation was heart breaking. 😭 I hope like we discussed, the presence of Aarti and Paridi lessens her work in the house as well as teaching her how to be more youthful and maybe liven up the romance with her husband. But whatever you do, CVs and Aarti, do not let her any where near Mansi! 👎🏼
So we still don't know if it is Yash's sister or his bua because she keeps saying "ghar ki beti" which is not really clear. But what we do know for sure now is that she is a widow who was never given the chance to remarry. Oh and that Papa S sees the societal benefit of this marriage. I still don't think he is negative, I think he sees this as killing two birds with one stone. Yash gets what he wanted in a wife, ie a mother for PayLak and he gets naam and izzat for his family. I think he is going to be a support for Aarti until he finds out the divorce thing. 😕
AAWW!! PayLak, or should I say Chinky-Minky 😆, with the uncles was too cute! I love their family bonding and how freely the girls came in and talked to their uncles about how they were bored. And Yash's expression of love and longing and peace was so wonderful! He looked like there was nothing more he wanted in the world. And that continued in his mall-interactions with them! I loved the way GC has become so much more comfortable with these kids than when we first saw him with them in the hair scene. I loved the way he was lifting and playing with them, it all looked so natural and sweet. And I loved the way one of them was playing with his nose. And finally the escalator scene was adorable with one on his back and one holding his hand. I love how natural the conversations seemed between Aarti and Ansh and Yash and PayLak. I wonder what they were saying...
Precap: OH, I cannot wait for this! I hope they get to talk or at the very least, get Aarti to meet the girls. And their run-in reminded me of that dialogue from HumTum where some disaster always takes place when Rani and Saif meet. Same for our two lovebirds-to-be! But however disastrous or explosive their interactions are, they are always drawn together by chance so I guess they will face all the disasters together as well.
