@Opti: Yes exactly. For me the first week was as close to flawless as commercial Indian Television gets. It was well paced, it was balanced, the characters were interesting, relatable and endearing and I was so sure I had found a new fix. But what has ensued since last week has been progressively more and more disappointing. This is put into high relief by the fact that I booted my mother, a fair-weather BALH fan (and the weather is mighty fair of late), off the sofa at this time slot. So PV has to make that worth it for her or I am stuck hearing painfully true, but snide remarks through out the whole episode.

But they simply cannot get away with many episodes like today's. The problem wasn't the dragging per say, but where they were dragging and what they were dragging. The fact that we already know Aarti and Yash are going to get married precludes any suspense here so why are they forcing this will they won't they down our throats?

I agree they have to pick up the pace and play on their strengths, the cast and the central premise.

Aaj Ka Review Bumble Bee Ji ke Naam :-)

Do you guys want the pluses or the minuses first?
Chalo, the positives first:

1)The hero of today's episode: Mr. Bumble Bee😆

I have to confess that after that bhanwar dialogue yesterday, a literal stinger on the scenes was a hooter for me and I stood up from my seat grinning and going O teri when the bee began buzzing and Gurmeet's eyes went after the bee! Hahaha! And I began laughing even before the scene played out, simultaneously praying Aarti wouldn't slap Yash for what was likely to follow. Mansi's expression there was priceless! We sure knew what that idiot would be thinking! I can't but smile even now at that entire scene :-) Yeh kiska idea tha waise? Quite ingenious.

Even more symbolic is that a bee turns to be a passive ice-breaker towards their relationship, the catalyst that prods Aarti's breaking down towards the end, the catalyst that also arouses the protectiveness in Yash.

Was reminded of the introductory scene between Shakuntala-Dushyanta in Kalidasa's play. The bee shall for sure let them be!

2) Loved Prateik. He is such pure joy to watch. His entire attitude, his openness, his cute teasing, his "lady gundi" calling, his sensitivity over and above everything. Simply Love Him.

3) Loved the fact that Yash's father is sensible and seems non-manipulative and simple for now unlike Yash's mother who seems at the tipping verge of turning negative.

4) Loved the subtle yet absolutely effective acting from Kratika's end. She presented the turmoils of being in a total state of turmoil to the T. She made one feel claustrophobic of the entire situation in her shoes.

5) As always, Gurmeet manages to blend into any situation effortlessly with seemingly minimal but surely much considered acting. Yash went about the situation as prosaically as a 'man' could in his circumstances. Tomorrow seems even more promising from his end. Do I need to repeat that he looks stunning in his black n maroon costume?

6) I loved the way the screenplay allowed for delineating the male and female ends of the same spectrum- Aarti visibly moved, and obviously due to more reasons than Yash. Both hesitating, both seeking to embrace silence, both tremulous in their own ways within.

7) Cinematographically, I enjoyed the Yash-Aarti positioning outside. Gave us a bird's eye view of how they'd like side by side single frame. They look fine.

8) My eyes teared as Aarti sought Shobha ji's blessings. What a priceless moment!

Okay, onto what did not work for us and predictable too I suppose:

1) MANSI! MANSI! MANSI! Aaargh! What is she? Her intentions are not bad I suppose, so she can't be called a vamp! Is she just a retard? Hormonal Deluge? What the heck is she doing?! If yesterday wasn't obscene enough, her thoughts are so uni-centered today! She is neither feminist nor modernist nor conventionalist, aakhir Mansi cheez kya hai? :o Cheapo! She has so totally indisposed Aarti towards Yash. What is Mansi's problem. My family also wish to know why she was passing flirtish glances at Yash. Don't tell me she's already envious of Aarti! Hey Raam, iss Mansi ka kya karein?😡

2) The ring looked more dropped than slipped. Executional issues.

3) The dropped ring sequence- why the cliched focus on each member's face after it slipped? Too dramatic that.

4) The pace is rather slow as against how fast it was in the first week. Kyun?

Tomorrow hopefully, Shobha ji will kantaaap Mansi (atleast verbally) and drive some sense into Aarti. Aarti is being too vulnerable and judgemental and to Yash's non-benefit. I loved that Shobha ji will speak to Yash and Co on Aarti's behalf. Love that the entire character suspicion ka brew is likely to spill over and be washed away before the wedding. Am reminded of SRK's dialogue to Divya Bharti in Deewana where he says I won't touch you until you want me to. That situation plays at both Yash's and Aaarti's end here. Not still comfy regarding the fact that Yash and family are oblivious to Aarti's divorced status. Ahem.

Phew... that's about it- done with my bhayankar review 😆

Pheww finally back from Dinner and all over FB and IF I could see only two things ..kill Madhumakkhi and Mansi 😆😆😆😆😆
I m yet to watch the episode but its funny how there is a huge outburst over these two creatures 😆😆😆😆
Anyways I will not comment anything untill I see the episode ..but from what I can gather is that majority hv issues with slow pace of the episodes and everyone feels it needs to pick up pace ...I hope CVs r listening here 😊
Coming to the whole honeybee kand 😆...from what I could gather in the updt given to me via PM by Mansi is that a honeybee becomes the reason to actually break the ice between both which is quite symbolic 😛😆..Both were not able to find any words to start their first ever interaction ..Pratik already declared both as brother-sister in his irritation 😆 and Mansi told Aarti that dont act like u r going for your phaansi 😆...Under these circumstances when words fall short ,a simple honeybee does the trick 😉😆😛...Mayb because of this silly madhumakkhi ,Aarti feels Yash is a flirt and his first impression on her falls negative but at least somehow it breaks the ice between both 😆😆😛... At least a honeybee sitting on her bare stomach does succeed to get Yash's attention towards her 😉...Not necessary every love story starts with words ...some love stories starts direct with action ..and thats what happened today ...no talking ..direct action 😆😆😆
So I dont see any issue here regarding madhumakkhi as well as Mansi ..since Mansi like girls do exist in real life ..lets ask to ourselves only ..dont we talk like Mansi in this very thread itself when we discuss about ASS-ets ?? 😛😆..so why blame the poor girl when we girls ourselves hv such lusty talks in private chats or in these thread 😆...tell me during our own marriages (those who r married) ,dont we come across Mansi like friends who tries to give us additional tips on first night experiences based on their own experience or dont we hv friends like Mansi who will go on talking such nonsense stuff about our fiances or husbands just to tease us ?? 😉😆😆...So why so much of hula-boo over Mansi and Madhumakkhi 😕😆
I feel the only issue is the slow pace ...its like everything is going in slow motion ...other than that I dont hv much issues with the scenes as I feel they r quite unique and no copy of any show so far 😊

@Jyo: You are back! Welcome. How was your dinner?

I don't have a problem with either the madhumakki or Mansi actually. They were in fact two of the only things I didn't mind about the episode and about the only two things that instigated any action.

@Deeps: I loved your defense of Mansi. It is true, it's not just guys, girls are also obsessed with it these days, much more openly, and I think it is a bit intimidating to have a character like this invade a saas-bahu environment. But my problem is not with what she says but how often she says it. I really liked yesterday when she was describing each of the family members, trying to get Aarti to look at the picture. Also I agree with you that she was trying to get Aarti out of this depression by telling her how hot her would-be thought she was. She even says, Yash looks so happy and only you are stuck in your own world.

So I actually get the feeling that Mansi is trying to push Aarti over the edge one way or another so that she will stop living this half-life she has been living since Prashant left her. I am not saying it is incomplete because she was single but because she was in love with a man who would never love her or their child back. Now at least she has a chance for herself and assurance for the kid. I still love Mansi as much as ever and find her true to life but her repetitive dialogues, along with the pace of the episode drove me crazy! But we can't deny that it was Mansi's goading that made Aarti take a stand and run out of the room. This will lead to a better understanding between Aarti and Yash, if only by proxy.

@Sini: Great analysis! You perfectly outlined the positives and negatives of the episodes and I only hope someone is listening!

I also forgot to mention, we have been seeing Aarti with this tragic/nervous/nauseous expression on her face for so long that it was a welcome change to see her angry when Yash brushed the fly off her. I had forgotten she could do any other expression and it was a very welcome and pleasant reminder. The CVs better be careful about how much they are underusing the actors in a dragged episode like this.

@Samana:Dinner was quite nice ..had 4 kababs and some really nice desserts along with main coarse of course 😆😳
@Sini: The best part of your take was the cutee beee picture 😛😆😆
@Deeps :As usual we share same views on Mansi ,.,,hi5 twin sister 😭😆😆
@About Mansi : Sini and Samana I understand both your POVs regarding Mansi's whole lust+pervert jaap is being overdone now and it looks like she is almost trying to force Aarti to believe that Yash is a pervert without letting Aarti herself form any judgements on Yash
But I feel here Aarti too is at fault ,since she should hv a mind of her own rather than blindly believing Mansi ...I just hope AarYa start interacting with each other now becuase thats the only way these two can sort out all the issues ...

@About the dragging part :And yes I agree with another point of Samana that there is no suspense regarding the marriage as we know the basic story starts after marriage only ..so there is no point dragging the whole marriage thing for too long daily ,,,,they need to get the marriage done in Fast forward mode and then take time for the love story to build up slowly 😳

@Jyo: Yum! 😛

I think you misunderstood me! 😲 Please! I am as much of a Mansi-bhakt as ever! I am more irritated with Aarti than Mansi actually. Instead of telling her friend to shut it and be serious because she needs her support (as I would have done with any friend of mine), Aarti decides a maun vrath is a far superior option. Bravo girl, bravo. 🤔

It's one thing that she believes Mansi and it is another that she lets her go on and on instead of saying, OK fine, how many times will you say the same thing? Tell me something I don't know! 😎

To be honest, I think Mansi is being so irritating on purpose to get some reaction, any reaction out of the zombie Aarti. Also as Deeps said, it is what girls do for their friends. Even if the guy your bestie likes is looking in another direction altogether, you always tell her, "OMG! He is totally staring at you!", "OMG! I think he's totally into you" 😆 I know I've done it.

As for the marriage suspense, well they can create suspense in other ways the way they did with the Ansh issue, where we are actually interested to see how it is handled. They could have a small track where Payal and Palak say we don't want an evil step-mother and Yash actually opens his mouth and convinces them that what he does is for their best, they could have more Prateek-Paridi drama before the wedding. Basically suspense can be created in mini-tracks before the wedding, not in the main track that is leading up to the inevitable event that is the TITLE of the show!

Finally finished watching the epi. Gosh it was the most depressing roka/engagement i've ever watched on TV... I get Yash & Aarti are reluctant and uninterested but what's the need to highlight that in slow motion...🤔

The only scene I found poignant was the dupatta-stole one. Their destinies are entwined together and its no use denying it or running away from it because fate will bind them together forever..😳

Regarding Maansi. I personally find nothing wrong with her talks. As Deeps said girls nowadays talk like this...😆 Also she's trying to get Aarti interested in Yash. It maybe backfiring because Aarti is just not in a place where she takes such things lightly but Maansi's intentions are sweet here...😳

I m wondering what next after engagement ?? Will they drag another month for marriage and do the marriage during IPL kya ??😕...its quite a possiblity that marriage will happen during IPL since they do need high points to sustain the IPL fever ...🤔...

if thats the case then I hope CVs show their interactions before marriage ..some nok-jhoks and some light moments where Aarti tries to meet Yash ka kids and vice versa ...
In Punarvivaah ,one very important thing is communication between the couple and so far we r yet to see any communication between both

@Samana":Oh k I just read your take and posts regarding Mansi 😆..I guess my brain is freezed a bit after dinner 😆...yup I agree its Aarti who is more at fault for simply keeping a maun vrath and crying for no reason ..Mansi is obviously instigating her to get a reaction from her but all she does is cry cry and cry ...I m really missing that jhansi ki rani Aarti with a hockey stick and who had the courage to slap that buddha in mall when there was no Mansi to guide her around ...CVs need to bring that Aarti in action now ...
