I know lots of us still have GHSP in our minds and hearts and with Gurmeet having played a larger than life character of MSK over there we have still not got over him.
But is it fair to compare or benchmark two shows of a totally different genres and can say target audiences too.😲 The only similarity in both the show is Gurmeet whose the hero in both the shows but i guess the characterisations are a little different out here in PV where hes seen as a honest and calm guy but yes streaks of MSK will still be seen because as MSK i guess he played out all kinds of roles.
There has been lot of debate over the towel promo and then the recent dargah promo where they say its copied from Geet. I would disagree on this point because all the 4 promos that played out were in a continuous series which showed a build up of a gradual relationship between Yash and Aarti.
As far as the Dargah scene is considered Dargah scenes are quite common in all serials in tv right now and with BHOPAL as the backdrop going to peer babas is quite common so they have taken it for their show and i guess the new PH wouldnt even know that there was a TERI DEEWANI sequence in GHSP because i dont think PHs go around seeing scenes from serials of other channels especially the ones which were youth oriented.
We have to remember that benchmarking or comparing PV with GEET is not proper because both are of different genres and would also say for a different set of audience too.
TERI DEEWANI was a master piece and i dont think another sequence could be also benchmarked against it.
Lets give PV its own separate recognition instead of having GHSP in our minds all the time as Gurmeet is the only common factor in both. I know its difficult but i guess we can do it over a period of time and at present the show is also looking interesting with good perfromances by both Gurmeet and Kratika and rest of the cast too.
Special kudos to the character of Aartis mother in law cum the actress too for her fine acting.
