Show: Punar Vivaah
Episode: 1
Channel: Zee TV
I know, i know i am late in Analyzing one of the most awaited and anticipated show of the Year: "Punar Vivaah"- Zindagi Milegi Dobaara, but the saying goes "Der aaye par Durust aaye " right friends??? So here i am with the Analysis and Symbolism of the last two episodes of the show, and i must say after seeing the Video (Thanks to desi9 for uploading them in HQ) i am stunned, exhilarated and Impressed at the same time, as you read you will know ki why the following reactions...
Shaadi dobbar ho sakti hai...lekin...
Kya vishwaas dobbar ban sakta hai?
Kya sapne dobara sanjoye ja sakte hai?
Aur kya pyaar dobara ho sakta hai?
As stated in the promos, the Intro Videos and various articles...Punar Vivaah is the story of a Marriage which in its course is destined to bring two broken hearts together. The Hearts of Aarti who through this re-marriage needs to find not only love but trust and faith, that she lost when he first marriage resulted in Divorce and Yash who also needs to learn Aarti and accept her as his Jeevan Sangini and not just the mother of his Kids...Well that part is still to be revealed, so lets just limit ourselves to what the last two episodes consisted off, and am i happy writing this A & S, coz after a long time i got to see Symbolism's and plenty of them with this shows, Dont know is the makers believe in Symbolism's and hence the incorporation, but whatever was shown were apt and worth mentioning...
Episode 1 was more of Aarti's Introduction, it went on to show the girl, the woman, the mother she is. It established not only the entry and character sketch of the female lead and her different avatars, but also the different relationships she shares.
Aarti is a Girl full of life, she is down to earth, modest, beautiful, responsible, mature and intelligent. Its not a surprise that these are the qualities a guy looks for in his life partner, and a mother looks in a prospective bride for her Son. The same is the case here with Vimala, who is on the outlook for a Perfect Bride/ Daughter in law. She decides to seek Aarti's hand in marriage for her son Mohan, who also looks really impressed with Aarti...The Different aspects showcased with Aarti from her management skills in the kitchen to her managing the Kids, and her fondness for them establishes the character further...The Mom (Later revealed M-I-L), Best Friend-Maansi sequences showed the importance she held in their lives. Finally Vimala gets hold of Aarti and gives her the Shagun, which shows that even rich, renowned people like them admitted to the fact that Aarti was the best Jeevan Sangini anybody could get until the truth of her Motherhood came forward in the form of Ansh her son- That piece of her heart of her life for whom she lived.
Congratulation to the Creative team for putting up the a Dramatic but realistic sequence in the Very first episode where Vimala insults Aarti and at a point even questions her chastity when she comes to know that Aarti is a Divorced single mother...The double-standards and typical behavior the society places upon divorced single mothers were brilliantly exemplified &executed. The answer to Vimala's ruthless questions came in the form of Shobha Dubbey, Aarti's Mother-in-law-which comes as a shocking surprise to all especially Vimala, when she roars back at the Latter for pointing fingers at a Girl/Woman as pure and wonderful as Aarti...The various questions Shobha asks for ex; "Is it always the wife's fault if the husband abandons the wife and breaks-up their relationship? " or " If a divorced/widowed husband can get married again, why not a woman?" are questions which the double standard society we live in needs to answer...We say that today men and women are equals, the question is are they truly equals???
Another well executed and well written scene and Dialogue was the one as follows " Aap Jaisi Aauraton ki wajah se hi Saas Shabd ko gaali maana jaatha hai" ...Bravo-USHA DIXIT (Dialogue Writer) 1st episode mein hi SIXER!!! I must say that line definitely had a huge impact neing the opening episode, and also went on to show that not every Saas were as narrow-minded and matlabi like Vimala, here was a Saas who disowned her own son because he wronged the girl he married, that he could not give her the Respect and Love that she deserved. She promises to get her daughter (Daughter-in-law) married to a Suitable Man..." Main karwaoongi apni talak-shuda Aarti ka PUNAR VIVAAH" the emphasis on the word "Talak Shuda" and Punar Vivaan should not go unnoticed...The reaffirming of the word" Talak Shuda" points out to how such woman in our society must be given a chance to live life again, irrespective of any judgments. And Punar Vivaah ofcourse establishing the concept, meaning and aim of the show, and the journey its about to embark upon...
This is for sure a Journey, i would never want to miss...So stay tuned, as this Analysis and Symbolism on Punar Vivaah is only the beginning...
