*sigh* I give up trying to go back and read through all the discussion posts I've missed today! Watched the episode twice and got so caught up in the emotions that I never got around to commenting here, haha!
Needless to say, I loveddd the episode in spite of the heartbreaking memories Aarti had of her marriage proposal and the dissolution of her marriage - the blending of those two incidents was done beautifully! I'm not going to talk about Mr. Hypocrite (that recurring "umarbhar ki qaid" dialogue irony was very nice! Made me feel so, so bad for Aarti!) because he just annoys me way too much. My heart broke into pieces by the end of the episode because of Kratika's performance and dialogue delivery. Dramatic scenes feel less dramatic because she naturally underplays her part instead of being unnecessarily loud, which indicates that she has control over her craft. As sad as the end of the episode was, Aarti's earlier mischevious streak was TOO adorable! Each expression of hers is worth watching, and they change so quickly that it's hard to notice everything without multiple views.
Damn, I've turned into a Kratika fanatic in the span of a week! She's just something else...In that HT interview topic I've already written about how much I love her ability to really step into her characters' shoes and truly get under their skin...Her approach to acting/performing isn't just throwing words around to appear to be capable of acting...Her dedication shows. She ACTUALLY lives her roles, that much I can see from even briefly watching bits of JKR (and her stage JKR performances), and the same thing is definitely evident here. I've never been this attached to one of those characters that appears to be one of those "seedhi saadhi" heroines. Aarti isn't a character that can be tagged with that label, for sure. I feel that the characterization of Aarti has a lot of depth, and from the sensitivity with which Kratika portrays her already, I genuinely hope the character graph is dynamic and isn't compromised on!
Ah, Gurmeet. This is my first show with Gurmeet (and Kratika, obviously) and honestly I'm not one to gush about actors without a reason, whether about their appearances or performances...They showed relatively little of Yash today, but I like the aura that Gurmeet had around him when he was in front of the camera...The quintessential man of a few words. Brooding, quiet, dedicated to his family and work...That's the impression I got from what was shown, but he may turn out to be presented like Aarti - delving deeper into his life will help us learn more about him in due time - where skimming the surface isn't enough. I found his expressions a bit hard to read...That's probably because I've never seen Gurmeet act...Maybe Yash is supposed to be hard to read sometimes, who knows? Then again, I loved that 4th promo of Yash-Aarti because of Gurmeet-Kratika's expressions and body language...All those nuances! These two are going to be brilliant together.
Special mention to both mothers...Appearances can be deceiving. That's quite possibly a theme here, haha! And oh my gosh, Dishank! Ahah, he made my day! First the spoon appears, then Pratik, LOL! I wasn't expecting him to pop up so soon even though I did see Dishank walking around with Gurmeet in the SBB dargah segment and assumed he was a buddy of Yash's. This is even better: Pratik is Yash's little brother, he can cook, and he knows how to get his brooding brother to taste his latest culinary experiments even when Yash isn't in the best of moods! I think I'm going to like this guy, too! Already do!
Oh, and seriously LOL at the "Ladki?!" x 3. Pratik literally jumped up and hit the nail on the head with that "phoolon ki barsaat" dialogue. The "pehli nazar mein pasand" bit I'm not too sure about, haha. I hope we see lots of Yash-Pratik interactions after the punar vivaah, those will be great.

EDIT: LOL, that was a very long comment! And I didn't even talk about the music...or Shobha and her husband...or Aarti-Ansh...I LOVE the music...Aarti's theme, Yash-Aarti's theme, Aarti-Ansh's theme...All of them are so sweet!
