Angie, thanks for the info.. although i am more familliar with Ramayan i know very little abt Mahabharat, i just know its more complex and a very important character is Arjun, a great warrior..

ok some bare facts but characters are very complex and grey. So telling this story in such a concise way doesn't do justice. They are starting this TV serial on one of the channels. I would have recommended it if I was sure that justice can be done to such a show and that too by a serial maker. They cannot handle simple stories. How can they handle a complex epic?

Think about somebody making Odyessy. Only somebody who understands those complex Greek characters can do justice to them.

Anyway, coming back to story in context:

Arjun was a great warrior. Draupadi was a very beautiful princess. Her father put a condition that somebody who can pass a test (shooting a moving fish in the ceiling while seeing its reflection in a pot of water below the target). Only Arjun passed it and married her. But then due to some circumstances , Drapaudi became a shared wife to his four other brothers (this is a long story). So basically she was a wife to 5 brothers. Anyway, to avoid conflicts between brothers, they set up a time limit where each brother would spend a certain time with her exclusively and so on. Now Draupadi did marry other 4 brothers but her true love was Arjun. Arjun on the other hand did care for her, but his true love was Subhadra (Kanha's younger sister) for whom he fought. Now Arjun was the third oldest brother of the bunch. Bheem was the second brother who was the one truly in love with Draupadi. So whenever she was in trouble, he was the one on whom she counted. He was the brawny ones who was very strong. He also had another wife Hidimba (a powerful sister of a powerful demon).

So Rajkumar - Arjun, Sarita - Draupadi, Divya - Subhadra, Bheem - Rohan, Sheila - Hidimba.

Oh Wow 1 woman and 5 brothers!!And that test is mindblowing, i had a hard time imagining it.. Angie, now that u explained so nicely i can understand ur analogy better! thanks and u made me curious and will b waiting for your next week-end edition..

And was divya just here in this show to make sure raj and sarita get to gather as raj seems like he has started liking sarita
And divya has given her ring back to Gaurav

Really Rubina got the short end she was supposed to be the lead but------

Draupadi was a very grey complex character where many times you felt sorry for her, but at other times she did not generate that much sympathy. Now I have read numerous interpretations of various characters including Draupadi. The sympathy for her is dependent on the bias of the author. She was unique among all mythological characters because she was the only one who had 5 husbands. To me a grave injustice was done to her when she was forced to marry Arjun's other four brothers because she was in a way a tool in her father's war of vengeance against his nemesis. All these were very human characters whose actions were driven by many things - love, desire, jealousy, anger, vengeance and duty.

I consider Mahabharat to be one of the most fascinating work of literature as all its characters were very complex and there are many stories/substories that connect these characters. There are Gods and humans all mixed up in the story.

hmmm Mahabharat!! So that's where the concept of multiple marriages come from. Will wait for Angie's writeup

My problem is not exactly bedroom sharing - it's that Sarita and Raj should at least have an emotional and logistical separation (if not the legal one) before they start planning Sarita's PV. It's weird that on one hand Raj - Sarita are getting closer (not sure of this, is that what makers are trying to show?), family continues to treat them as married, and on the other hand everybody is planning and preparing for her PV.

It's such a sham if you see from the new guy's pov. About this guy's divorce, well his wife deserted him so he would automatically be granted divorce if he applied for it. And, if this guy's wife ran away, is that a drawback or "khot" in him? Makers could have shown here that social stigma is sometimes irrespective or maybe due to gender. If a girl's husband deserts her, she gets more sympathy but if a guy's wife deserts him, he gets ridicule. But agree why is he so desperate for remarriage?

Why is everyone more concerned about Sarita being untouched for 10 years; is that a criteria for remarriage 😡? Why not her current state?? The show is becoming a joke, that too, of not a very good taste.

At least they can show these 2 moving to different rooms (indicating separation), Sarita stopping taking care of Raj and divorce proceedings initiated.

not only divorce, what about sleeping arrangements. Shouldn't Sarita and raj at the very least move to different rooms? Or will they play act husband wife till sarita's wedding day - she will move from one husband's room to the new one's room. this is way beyond unbelievable and pinnacle of absurdity. Better move both of them to a room in mental asylum. Ruchi because the creatives are planning on a very important scene...Raj will accompany Sarita to her new bridal chamber that she will be sharing with Rohan and then Sarita will look at him and say "Raj ji can I enter the room.I did not leave your room because I wanted you to bring me from one bridal chamber to the other. I will only enter it if you say so otherwise I won't."

yesterday I felt sarita's feelings were illogical but maybe true and gave mother child example to support my theory. Today you say that raj is adopting Sarita 😆. All my sympathies with the new flirt - he should run away if he knows what's good for him. So you think that Sarita is the mother and Raj is her baby. While I think that Raj is the father who has adopted Sarita as his child. I think even Sigmund Freud cannot untangle this mess.😉😆

do CVs even know what they want to show? Or they are just meandering in dark, fumbling along waiting to hit TRP jackpot. Bingo! I don't know whether the cvs will hit the jackpot or not but you have.

Neerja I have no issues regarding the husband seeing to it that his ex-wife leads a respectable life and is financially independent.But it should be done in a proper way. The way they are showing it it is turning into a badly written farce. I actually do not understand Sarita's parents. I mean how can they let this abuse go on for 10 years. I know people are conditioned to think that once a girl is married she belongs to her husband's family but won't they even try to solve the problem.

Now its confirmed , her parents aint gonna show up as she gave the right to decide to raj, so now is representing her rights so he is her lawyer...very interesting,,Raj-the hubby come parent come lawyer, ex artist 🤪the multiple roles of Raj...see he is a very layered character.😉 Good question whether she knew that Raj was overhearing her. Maybe subconsciously she is doing all this so that her PV actually does not happen...because although she is openly saying that she wants to get remarried again but we all know that she really does not want to. Also she is very focused on what her current fav project is and she forgets about everything. Since she is very focused on getting married again she is not paying attention that she might be sending conflicting signals to Raj.

Raj thinks that his parents are taking advantage of Sarita. He wanted to do Sarita's PV and he wanted Divya's help in that because most probably he wanted to do it in such a way that it is not disrespectful towards Sarita and that she is not further insulted.He knew that if his parents step in they are not going to care whether Sarita is feeling uncomfortable or not...whether she is insulted or not. He also did not want Sarita to rush into all this becuase he does not want her to repeat the mistakes that he made.
