I understand that Rubina fans would feel cheated as the show was initially promoted as Raj - Divya story. And I also agree that despite getting screen space Divya is not getting mind share, because her character's motivation and back story is not explained.

But I don't feel it's something to do with Rubina herself because even Sarita is not explained - people connected to her because she was the obvious damsel in distress, a long suffering and abused housewife.

I don't know the past history of Zee or PH but it does not make business sense to sideline your most popular star - I am sure she would have a major role to play. She might not end up with Raj as the target audience of soaps are most likely housewives with grown up children - that is why we see so much glorification of things they identify with - marriage, housework, sacrifice etc.

What we currently see is another subtrack which would get over quickly. Since there are 3 leads there would be times when one of them would be ignored. I am sure Karan's fans felt the same in the first 3-4 weeks as he was hardly shown on screen. Now he is everywhere.

By the way, is it confirmed that Rubina is feeling cheated as she feels sidelined or it's a hypothesis looking at story's general direction?

Forgot to add, story and character development is PH's work. So, even if there's pressure from Zee, it's the PH's job to ensure that they maintain the quality they want. If they were really not keen on season 2 or not ready with the story, they should have made such a statement and not relent.

So, blame lies as much with PH as with Zee, if not more.

Punar Vivah, was a nice show garnering good trp's. Recently the trp's dropped and they decided to bring in a brand new PV in a short span of time! Why? Rather they could have worked around the old PV to bring new twists and increase the trp right? Why scrap that show completely and bring a new PV hastily (read, pressurizing the PH and creatives to work on a new storyline asap!). When something like this happens, the results are not bound to be good!

CB2 was their first mistake in this case. CB1 was a revolutionary show in the sense that it opened up early evening slots! However, after 1.5 years, the trp's dropped slightly (well, isn't it bound to happen for such a old show?) However, the show was just picking up with Imarti's track...but they ended the show so abruptly! Even the creatives and PH were seemingly uninformed...otherwise they wouldnt have introduced imarti's track in the week prior to show ending right? And then due to immense fan pressure, (or say because of greediness they wanted to cash in on RaDev's popularity... ) they pressurized the PH to make a second season quickly. Again the PH and creatives were asked to write a quick story and the result is what we all got to see!! The story didn't have any direction from the start! I can see history repeating itself all over again!!

In these cases, the show doesn't work much basically because even the PH is not interested much. Its all the channel's diktat!

Other channels who were supposedly thinking of bringing season 2 of their past hit shows changed their decisions after seeing the responses CB and Kitani Mohabbat hai got in season 2. However, ZEE is just too stubborn!

I hope the actors are wary about signing any other such projects in future.

till today season 2 hasn't been successful but lol zee tv says this is not a second season this is new chapter 😆 *baat to ek hi hui lol*

and ya agree when channel pressurize PH to do something it wouldn't come out good as PH will do it unwillingly

and ya the thing u said that they should have bring twist in PV1 instead of PV2--zee tv had given two choice to PH as per rumors either to kill male lead and continue story or to change story and all cast..and poor PH didn't wanted to kill male lead so came up with new story which is sadlly not good

@Ruchi, I agree that it is not only channel's fault. It is also everyone involved with the show from PH to writers etc. How is execution of the show in the first month fault of the channel only. As you said, none of three characters were ever explained properly. Raj was the least explained followed by Divya. But they did focus on Sarita's emotions even though her circumstances were not explained at all and some of things about her do not add up. But people will give benefit of doubt to her because she is the one who has suffered the most in this marriage and they can still interpret her as the one having value system of sticking with one's husband regardless of his treatment. So many would root for her. So I blame PH and channel both for the poor execution. PV1 story was mingled with PV2 story before leap and they ended up giving a bad end to their earlier show too. Also PV2 stars were never used in the initial promotion. The result was both fans of PV1 and new leads (Karan and Rubina) were dissatisfied. Just as Ruby's show was a hit, so was Karan's show.

I don't think Divya is not going to be shown anymore. I am pretty sure that they will bring her in at some point in the show. But how much emphasis will be given in explaining her character is something to be seen. So far for so many days she was almost obsessed with helping Sarita and no monologues were given to her about her reasons for coming there. Even yesterday, they gave Sarita the lines to explain Divya's motivations. Why can't they show emotions/backstory of all three characters. If audience cannot understand these characters, they will not be able to bring too many TRPs for their shows no matter what gimmick they use.

In the two shows I mentioned before, one of the show closed maybe couple of months after bringing in the new lead. The other one is still generating low TRPs. So unless the story and execution is improved, changing the story and execution won't do a thing for ratings.

I do watch for actors because if I don't like them, I can't watch it. But that is only in the initial stages. Then the story, screen play and execution has to be good to hold my interest. I am sure that is the case for a lot of general viewers. The execution is not only channel's responsibility, but also PH's too.

Oh I blame ZEE alright. Look at it. The interference by ZEE in their serials, it always ends up sour- out of the world TRPS🤣 I have never believed Zee being the bad one. But since the abrupt end of Badalte, Phir Subah Hogi, I am a believer. Zee intervened, they changed the timeslot to a later time ( Like 🤬)!!!!!!!!!!! Which channel runs serials at 11 pm ??? They didn't even promote the shows, how they expected it to get high trps? Instead they look after the so called big shows with big names and forget about the small ones. Compare the times the big shows got Maha episodes and maha sangams and count how many times a new promo is aired.

These days, the PH has less saying about the way their serial should go on Zee TV... 😭
