i removed my post which possibly started off all this (though that wasnt my intention at all... ) anyway back to the debate

its not necessary rashi that every king followed this but it is rare to find to king historically with just one wife.. sometimes surprisingly even kings with famous love stories had many other wives like shahjahan mumtaz mahal.. kings married many wives not only because of the child-crisis.. but mostly due to form friendly relations with other kings and make their power stronger... it could also be that they dont want to displease other kings or say no...to annexe other cities... these were just the queens what about all the dancers and other women in the harem? Dont be naive to believe that kings were ever monogamous... 😳 kyaa karein yaar its a very different life and very difficult for us to adjust to and accept...

anyway.... as for the love story i dont think it was a mistake at all... if it wasnt for the love story then there most we would know about Prc's life was that he was the last major hindu king of India! Prc has one thing none of the other emperors have - a very very popular love story - the story of Prithviraj Chauhan and Sanyogita...😊

yes and thts y we all know PRC most famous for this rather than other Kings of India
No kings had such story rather will say luv story😳like PRC-Sanyo😳👏

PRC is not famous only because of his love story.. Would we have cared to know about say Ghoris love life ?? PRC is famous because of this own courage and his tragic end and also partly due to the famous love story...

But sadly the love of his life was largely responsible for his defeat and death.

bhuvi there are plenty of men on this earth who have been brave.. i am not denying that PRC wasnt brave but i dont think he was the bravest king that ruled in India -i wouldnt say that he was even in the top ten... 😕 yes he had the potential to be.. but he didnt become na...

but he does have probably one of the most popular historical love stories... hence... 😳

I agree with you lashy whn u say that PRC had the potential to be one of the greatest kings of India and would have been had he not fallen so hoplessly in love with sanyo

I also want to say the same...I dont think Sanyo was the cause, but even for a moment to think that too much love for Sanyo was the cause, then again it was not the only cause....there were so many causes which should be considered too.

how can we say that theirs was a popular love story? In reality they didn't even meet (even if they met they didn't recognize each other.) they fell in love with each other when Sanyogita saw PRC's painting and heard about his bravery and PRC, when Chand told him about her beauty...It's the way they eloped, that swayamvar which made their love story so popular...and after they got married , well wherez the love story then ? coz PRC had many wives.

thts the point tht they fell in luv seeing each other's painting and hearing abt each other's n then eloped thts the main part of their life which is and has to be meant as luv story😳....
cz all other kings who had deer luv stories those wer created or got created when they saw each other BUT here PRC -Sanyo luv-story is different They saw each other's painting n fell in luv
If in this century you fell in luv just seeing anybody's painting not even photo all will laugh on you tht how foolish is tht BUT tht make you n you'r luv different from other luvers of this century
same at tht time this was did by PRC eloping sanyo very different and courageous thing which normaly in tht times even Kings cannot do tht done by PRC Kings most probably do as their parents or grandparents said them to do or said them to marry who they have decided
But PRC didn't did tht he just fllown away after hearing and watching/seeing sanyo's beauty tht makes this Kings story a Luv-Story or shud we say Different Story of his life who was Brave more than other kings of India and Ruled India more than other's
