************************** Part 4 ***************************
"Kaha thi tum dono?" Maya ma asked as they reached their tent.
Maya ma looking at prithvi and his friends: "Aur yeh kaun hai?"
Payal made Sanyogita sit on the cot.
Payal: "Maya maa, yeh Arjun, Lakshman aur Pundir." pointing at each of them. She mapped wrong name with wrong person.
Pundir: "Yeh Arjun, Yeh Lakshman aur mein Pundir" correcting her.
Payal: "Ha wohi....."
Maya maa: "Yeh yaha??"
Payal: "Maya maa, yeh woh hume..... (pointing at Prithvi) yeh khai mein gir gaya tha, toh humne isse bachaya, aur yaha le aaye."
Everyone looks at her.
Maya ma (with concern): "Kahi mein..... Aur tum dono ko yeh chot kaisi aayi?"
Payal (getting panic): " woh...... yeh (again pointing towards prithvi) daku ne is pe hamala kiya, toh humne ise bachaya aur......(she looked at sanyo for help)"
".......aur yeh hume yaha le aayi." nodding his head Prithvi completed the sentence for her. Arjun and Pundir smiled.
Maya ma(confused): "Kya? tumne? daku?? par...."
Payal: "Maya ma ... bahot dard ho raha hai." bending down and touching her right leg. Prithvi saw, there wasn't any injury there.
Maya ma: "Ha..... Pehle aap aandar chaliye aur dawa lagayiye. Aur aap log (to prithvi) waha neem ke ped ke niche jo baba baithe hai (pointing towards the neem tree), unse miliye. ve aapko rehne ke liye tambu denge."
Prithvi: "Ji shukriya" he starts moving ...looking at Sanyogita. Sanyogita got up and went inside without looking at him.
Arjun: "Aur Bhojannnnn...."
Maya ma(After thinking something): "Aap phele unse miliye phir bhojan ke liye yahi aana."
Arjun: "Ji bahot bahot shukriya. Woh hume bahut bhuk....."
Pundir: "Arjun cahle?"
Fortunately, baba gives them the tent near Sanyogita's tent. While going towards their tent.....
Prithvi: "Hum kal hi yaha se nikal jayenge aur....." He stops suddenly looking at someone.
Arjun: "Kya hua Prithvi?"
Prithvi (moving forward): "Abhi woh ek aadmi....." He starts looking here and there. Pundir and Arjun moved forward.
Pundir: "Aadmi, kaun aadmi?"
Prithvi: "Abhi yaha ek aadami tha, aaisa laga woh hume kabse ghur raha hai."
Arjun: "Kaun? kaha gaya woh?"
Prithvi: "Pata nahi" searching thoroughly.
Arjun and Pundir also started looking here and there, finding someone suspicious.
Prithvi: "Chodo, kuch nahi aaise hi mera vehem hoga......Chalo chalte hai."
Sanyogita did not speak anything for the next half an hour. She was sitting quietly. Uski saari yaadein taja ho gayi...... She rubbed her cheeks and felt Prithvi's touch. She remembered his confession near the lake. There he rubbed her tears and made her feel that there is no sorrow left in her life. She felt like heaven with him. What magic he knew?
But then she thought of that night when Prithvi tried to kill Jaichand and she suddenly got up and moved towards the door. Prithvi choosed Delhi instead of her.
Sanyo (to herself): "Prithvi yaha kya karna aaya hoga? kyun? Humse milne toh nahi?? Hum usse bata denge, yaha se chala jaye, varna hum hi chale jayenge."
Her eyes again with tears.
Payal was there. Since half an hour she was continuously speaking.
Payal (applying jadi buti on her wounds.): "Shayad unhe yeh pata chal chuka hai ke maine woh sandesh churaya. Isliye uhnone hum pe hamla kiya. Woh lakshman thik keh raha tha hume itne dur ghumne nahi jana tha."
Payal: "hmmmm.....Matlab kuch gadbad hai...... tumhe kya hua?" Looking at lost Sanyogita.
Sanyo: "kuch nahi..... kya keh rahi thi tum?" Trying to understand what payal is talking.
Payal: "Hum inn logon se puchna hi bhul gaye, yeh yaha itne der baad kyun aaye? Matlab utsaav toh chaar din pehle hi shuru ho chuka hai."
Sanyo: "Ha..... tum unse yeh baat puch ke toh aana."
Payal she did not pay attention to what Sanyogita told her. She was in her thoughts.
Payal: "Mujhe shak hai Kahi yeh Lakshman aur uske dost toh woh log nahi, jo gadbad karne wale hai."
Sanyo: "kya..... (turning towards her) nahi yeh woh nahi ho sakte." suddenly.
Payal: "Tumhe kaise pata? Aur tum mujhe uhne yaha lane se rok kyun rahi thi?"
Sanyo: "Kyun ki......" She starts crying.
Payal (going towards her): "Sanyogita" Looking worried.
"Kya baat hai Sanyogita? Kya hua?" Payal spoke in a consoleing tone.
Sanyo huggged her and cried even more.
Payal (trying to make her speak): "Kya tumhe darr lag raha hai?"
Sanyogita shook her head. She did not fear death any more.
Payal: "Toh kya...."
Sanyo: "Hum aasharam waapas jayenge Payal. Hume yaha nahi rehna."
Payal: "Wapas, kyun..... hua kya?"
"Sanyogita" they heard Maya ma's voice from outside. Sanyogita controlled herself and quickly rubbed her eyes.
Sanyo: " Kya baat hai maya ma?" As soon as maya ma enters in.
Maya maa: "Abhi abhi meri maha mantriji se baat hui hai, uhnone hume kal mandir sajane mein sabki madat karane ka, aur parso rasoi ghar mein bhi haath batana ka kaam sopa hai. Maine unse humari aur se haa kaha hai. Tum dono tayyar ho naa? Agar dard jyada hai toh....."
Payal: "Nahi nahi maya maa ..... Hum bilkul thik hai..... Ha hum kal yeh sab karenge."
Maya maa (looking at sanyo who was looking pale): "Jyada thakna mat, phir shaam ko bhajan hai aur saari aaurte mehndi lagane wali hai. Sabko isme shamil hona hai. Thik hai." She said this very sweetly.
Sanyo: "Ji maya ma"
Maya maa started going out. Then again turning towards them she said "Unn ladkon ko bhi apne kaam mein shamil kar lena. Jitne jyada log ho utna achha."
Payal: "Ji haa."
"Meauuuuu, Meauuuuww"
Maya ma: "Yeh billi ki aawaaz lag rahi hai, hai naa?"
Payal(quickly): "Ha ha.... billi, mein dekh ke aati hu." and she went out through the back door.
It wasn't cat. It was the signal given by a kid to call her out in one place.
Payal has hired some interested children as her informers. They gave her the news of whats happening everywhere in the camp.
Payal: "Kya khabar laye ho? Sab thik toh hai."
One kid: "Nahi didi kuch gadbad malum hoti hai."
Payal (getting alert): "Gadbad, Kaisi gadbad?"
Other kid: "Seetapur se jo pul uttar ki aur jata hai woh tut chuka hai."
Payal: "Maine tumhe iss jagah ki khabar lane ko kaha tha, naki kisi pul ki. Par.......par yeh pul aachanak tuta kaise?"
First kid: "Wohi toh, kuch log keh rahe the ke toofhan ke karan tuta hai. Par do din se yaha koi tufhaan aaya hi kaha?"
Payal: "Matlab Pul ko kisine toda hai?"
Second kid: "Ha..... Aur sare yatri jo uttar ki aur ja rahe hai uhne issi jagah pe bheja gaya hai.
Payal: "Achha...... toh isliye shayad yeh log aaj yaha rukna chahte hai, kyun ki aage ka rasta band ho chuka hai."
Second kid: "Koi yeh jaan buchke toh nahi kar raha hai naa didi?"
Payal: "Ho sakta hai. Tabhi mein sochu itne saare khali tambu kyu khade kiye hai......"
First kid: "Tambu ki baat ko leke vyavastha wale aur yaha ke kuch logon mein do din se jhagda chal raha hai."
Payal got lost in thoughts.
Second Kid: "In sab ka kya matlab hai didi."
Payal (coming back): "Aaa kuch nahi..... koi matlab nahi, aaise hi. Tumne bahot aacha kaam kiya hai. Aaise hi khabare late rehna. Thik hai."
Both (proudly): "Thik hai."
Payal: "Ab jao yah se. jao jao jao."
Prithvi, Arjun, Pundir took their dinner in maya ma's tent. Sanyo did not come in front of Prithvi. She made an excuse of not feeling well and went to the backside of the tent. Payal suspected something's wrong. Payal and maya ma served them. Throughout dinner Prithvi was searching Sanyogita. "Kya dhund rahe ho?" Payal caught him twice looking here and there. Prithvi: "Kuch nahi" Even Pundir and Arjun did not say anything. They knew their friend more than anyone.
After dinner Prithvi went to the back to his tent. He never felt so restless in his life.
Prithvi(to himself): "Yeh tum kis daur se gujar rahi ho Sanyogita..... Tum yaha? Kya hua tumhe? Tum thik toh ho naa?"
He felt suffocated and went out through the back door.
Even Sanyogita who was feeling restless came out again. For a moment they stopped spotting each other.
Now Prithvi could not stop himself any more from approaching her and continued walking towards her. Watching his action, Sanyogita quietly sat on the cot laid at the backside of their tent. Prithvi went and sat on the cot besides her.
