No...Johar was not Ridiculous.....Sati was...therz Difference between Satti n Johar......The mughal Kigz use to just Lust after Rajput Princess....thtz the reason...when this act started......it was basically to jump in the fire rather than face self-immolations at the hands of a mughal emperor!!!

yeah the main difference in SATI & JOUHAR is

in SATI an widow was forced to sacrifice her life husband's funeral pyre😭. From about 1812, the Bengali reformer Raja Rammohan Roy started his own campaign against the practice. He was motivated by the experience of seeing his own sister-in-law commit sati.

But in JAUHAR a lady may be married or unmarried or widow sacrifice her life in order to avoid capture and dishonour at the hands of enemy by her own wish....even men used to accept death in JAUHAR in order to avoid capture at the hands of enemy

VERY true..Yup,Rani Padmini was a very beautiful & a very brave lady..I am her descendant 😊 ..Sanyo committed Jauhar when she heard that PRC had been captured in the battle-field 😭 😭 ..& PRC only consummated his marriage with Sanyo..He had a son & daughter thru her..The daughter was sent to Chittor when the War broke out & the son accompanied PRC to the battle-field..ALL the other wives' were ROTTENNN jealous of Sanyo & their Love towards each other..I dunno bout the other wives'..Tho,I think Inchini & Indravati committed Jauhar..If,I am correct in remembering..That is what it said in the English translated verison of "Raso"
