I would say yesterday's episode was one of the best of PV.You would ask me why. Because finally the script revealed itself.I had taken the symbolisms right, but the path was still unclear to me.
I had told Prithvi will teach Mrinal love in her language.Now let us look at Mrinal as a child. What has happened to that girl. She saw mindless violence, gruesome murder of her family and that day the child died prematurely and a vengeful women devoid of emotions emerged. An innocence was nipped in the bud. But the problem was the child made her own deductions about the world. She started seeing the world through the experience of that night.
Art, culture thrives in a society where there is peace. When you are comfortable with all your basic needs satisfied like food, shelter,clothing and other basic necessities like a loving family, secure environment you sit relaxed and enjoy music. You sculpt, you paint, you write. But as your environment corrodes, as your life experience worsens or you face betrayals you move away from finer emotions, you move away from your heart. It's natural and it happens to humans.
Can you keep alive your soul in most tiring circumstances. Can you use art as a medium to keep your sanity at the face of extreme torture. It is not theory to be told, it is something that needs to be practiced. Yesterday Mrinal lost it. The sound of Veena when she had tortured Prithvi to the extreme questions her own belief system. She doesnt know how to counter him, how to defeat him. All her known methods of torture are unable to pluck that soul. He sings poetry, his plays the veena. And his eyes are calm even in torture. He is going right into those wounds of Mrinal, he is reaching out to that child that died a premature death, forcing the child with finer qualities to come out and asking this vengeful woman to die.
Because Manyakhet is going into darkness.If the soul of Mrinal is not restored that kingdom is going to be destroyed. They are going to banish the Mahalakshmi of Manyakhet citing impurity. Once she loses her powers Jakkala will lose her position too. And the lady Kosha is trying to claim that position. She is just standing there waiting in the wing when mausi told about Mrinal's condition and today she openly challenged Jakkala. Prithvi asked this woman to fight for her child's rights, not for her position. But today it became clear she wants Jakkala's position.
Why you have to take the power of Mrinal who has not crossed any maryada, why to belittle Jakkala who is the queen and irrespective of her faults many times right in her position and what is there in Kosha who is a prostitute. The reason Kosha gets the right is because unlike Mrinal and Jakkala with respect to Kosha a man, a king has crossed the line of maryada. So he has to protect himself, so Kosha will be protected. She will remain seedhi saadhi Kosha.
To undo Tailap and Kosha, Mahalakshmi of Manyakhet has to get her rights. Kosha cannot undermine Jakkala. Her child can get the right, but not her. I am sure Prithvi will restore Mrinal's rights once she realizes the mess she has created. It was after all he who had kissed her. The script has interestingly kept Prithvi crossing the line of maryada with Mrinal as far as public perception goes. Though we know that kiss was mutually accepted.
