Did anyone say that saying Hi rabba is BANNED coz she married in gujju family ? Do u see any statement made my me to that effect ?

Neither is saying HI rabba bad nor is being a punjabi bad . Let ME set the record straight with you for once so that you nEVER misunderstand me again since I will be posting quite a bit on this forum as i intend to see this track .

What I had criticised was the ZEE TV"s TYPICALITY in portraying a punjabi character . Not ALL Punjabis constantly say Hai Rabba to emphasize their Punjabiness to the extent I saw Mona did in A small segment in Pavitra Rishta . I mean they come and go and no one notices that They are Punjabis or gujratis or Marathis or whatever . In that small segment , Mona stood out as a Punjabi character Due a kind of caricaturing . I object to THAT . For instance if ur showing a South Indian Character why make him say AYYO MURUGA just to show he is a southie ? Sure , make him say that if the scene demands it but why ALL the time ?

I have so many Punjabi friends but they do not overtly emphasize their Punjabiness Like this .I am a Marathi but I do not overtly emphasize My Marathiness either . I dont CONSTANTly say AGGABAI AGGA BAI like ZEE TV wud have defo shown .

Such comments R critiques of the caricaturing done by TV channels . No one is saying Mona shud not say it in Gujju household or give up her religion . Please understand the point before jumping to conclusions and calling other Punjabis whom u dont even know as pitiful . Thats harsh .

I have full support only for Mona's character currently in this serial . And uptill now I have expressed it in my posts .

ypu made some awesome points... punjabi's dont use certain words or phrases to prove/emphasize their punjabiness.. about this whole gandhi surname discussion, i totally agree with you and no offence april2007 get a reality check.stop jumping to conclusions.. just chill yaar realx its just a show

I absolutely detest the way that girl is treated by ALL women bullying her by forming a group . Everyday the husband walks in to be surrounded by the cats at the door while his wife cowers on the staircase . He doesnt get a moment to rest or even have a cippa tea with her in peace . He shud simply tell them I am living seperate , u hate her so much na , Im going , fine .Just like ur husbands r not leaving u , I too cannot leave her , she is my zimmedari . And he shud go .
