I think they are making Mona's character is turning out to be too dumb, she was not like this when the serial started. When Anukalap is telling her that he wants a wife not a mother because he already has a mum..from Mona's expression, it seems that she doesn't understand what he is trying to tell her. If I were Anukalap I would be very bored with such a dumb wife. Innocence is good but they should make Mona's character smart or at least normal smart.

Also Ambaji talks to Mona as she is talking to some a small child. She is talking down to Mona i.e what you have in your hand "show me" why are you standing near the door. Mona's is treated as if she is somehow a servant and should be shown her place..Mona is very affraid of her, Ambajis is very domineering and almost abusive towards her..because Mona is shown as very weak personality.

The whole serial is becoming dumb..in the beginning when Mona interact with her old finance she was very self assured, now her character is shown as mentally challenged who is behaving like 10 year old child..

it's just an adjustment period being in her in-laws. From her own home and doing nothing, she's in her in-laws house and unsure of what to do. Give her a break..it's all a transition period. I actually find these episodes light-hearted and fun to watch. It shows a young innocent girl trying her best to be accepted at her in-laws.
Let's just watch and enjoy the show. If you're unhappy with it..then change the channel. I don't mean to offend, but it's kinda disheartening to keep reading negative feedback for a show that suppose to be entertaining.
We all have choices to watch or don't watch. If you're not happy, then don't watch. But please let's stop the belittling.

In the end one has to love themselves first to love others. Adjustment is two way street, if Mona loses your own self and don't know who she is and in the name of adjustment in real life this leads to depression and hordes of other psychological problems. She should never ever become another Amba ji..because she is not product of Ambaji's parents. She is Mona daughter of her parents and her culture..she should be proud of who she is and what she brings to life and family...most immigrants to west have problems because they try to become what they are not..Mona character is trying to do the same, lose herself in an alien culture, believe it or not Gujrati culture is alien to Punjabi regardless of being both being Indian..(maybe hard concept for most to grasp on this forum..)

Your enjoyment of the show must be very fickle if you don't want to hear any other view but just your own. I know my rights and I also know I have right to critique.

It's not a matter of being fickle or not. And yes everyone has a right to critique to their hearts content..so continue on, you're doing a fantastic job. In the mean time, I'm going to continue to enjoy the "light" hearted humor of the writer's, and enjoy the show until it bores me or does not hold my interest anymore. I'm sure there is a good reason why the writer's have this plot the way it is...maybe we should just all relax and sit back and watch it unfold rather than get so uptight.
No matter what culture it is...we all have to adjust from one environment to another.
Well carry on dear.

Yes we all have to adjust including Ambaji and in-laws to a new member but not lose yourself so much that you cannot find yourself and in the end don't know who you are, stop being what you are and try to become of somebody else.

Writer is just a writer he is showing what he wants to show, his work is not written in stone, just like anybody's else work it can be right or wrong..I have a feeling he is trying to show..how hard it is for a young women to survive in joint family..how little control they have over their destiny and how eager they are too please that they lose themselves and then they take out anger and desperation on their daughter-in-laws..

All this doesn't interfere with my sense of enjoyment so relax and let all point of view come on the forum.

Mona.......at the beginning was just vivacious..........but she has always been innocent at heart.........at first she hardly knew what love was..........then she discovered that feeling inside her....after her tayaji.......guided her with some tips....(that part...i thought was stupid).........but anyways................n now also i think they are making her look as she was...........ignorant of some facts......like details of intimacy..............the only closeness she knows is from the movies.......n now i think she'll cover that fact also with her dear sister's help.
Also.........ambaji........always had a problem with Mona..........since beginning....even before marriage.........sometimes......the impressions to vanish frm ur heart.....takes longer then we think.
I tihnk its all justifiable...................i dont see any dumbness in the character.........its just the innocence n ignorance.

From Mona's expression it is clear that she didn't understand when Anukalap says that he wants a wife not a mother.

Also, Mona is 21 years old, i think she must have a biology course including reproduction in her course work from grade 8 to 12. She seems totally clueless regarding the sexual aspect of marriage. In my opinion she is behaving like a totally illiterate girl, who had no access to school or books.

She seems pretty dumb compare to her cousin..it doesn't seem passable that they are brought up in the same household..Writer has goofed

Here's your answer It's a show everything is possible 😆 In all seriousness, it does come off weirdly that Mona doesn't know about the intimacy share b/w husband and wife in today's age. We are overexposed to all this thanks to shows, films etc...

The point is...the show is confused as to how to portray Mona. The lead has been replaced and while the previous girl looked effortlessly innocent (since she was indeed young)this new girl does not have the right balance between cuteness and plain simpering.

I don't mind you disagreeing with me at all but please keep it to the "Ram milaye jodi's" characters

My personal life and how I think , is off limit and is not part of this discussion .I did not drag or made any personal comments about your. Please don't be sorry to say but don't say it at all.. business to critique me..just keep your comments limited to the show and its characters. As far as non-veg food is concerned Ambaji was sending Anukalap to US..I don't know of any supermarket in US in which meat is not sold under same roof as vegetarian food..

I know many Gujrati old women in North America who take vegetarian food from the table that also serve non-veg food. Lots of Gujjus live in North America not a so called Sativic nation..the Gandhi family was very keen to send their son.
