As pratigya was lost in thoughts, the cab reached the area she lived. As the lane leading to her house was too narrow, she got down at the turn and walked towards her place with a basket full of fruits Krishna got for her family. The door of her house was locked. Pratigya wondered where Arushi had gone. After a small wait, Arushi did come with a happy smile seeing her sister, where as pratigya sighed seeing her sister fine. Pratigya was worried actually, house was locked,,,when she wanted enquire the landlady, she turned her face away.
"what happened, Arushi?"
"di,first come inside, freshen up...our Ramayan is al ways there.."
Pratigya was now sure that something is amiss.
"landlady? Ohh di...they will not have any talk with shameless people u know!"
"what?"
"Haan di, a girl touring with a man for one long week should obviously be shameless, characterless...what not?" Arushi said in a bitter tone.
"they are talking about me?!" pratigya shattered.
"according to theses people, yes!"
"that landlady Aunty, neighbors...all of theses people...they are thinking so low of me?" pratigya closed her eyes.
Arushi, who s unpacking pratigya's luggage rushed to her sister. It was pratigya who used to comfort er, encourage her but now she was so heart broken...she was feeling numb.
"leave it di...we are poor, young ladies staying alone, going out for work..we are Ina very vulnerable position...so it all makes them easy to criticize us ..bad mouth us...and this is not even a penny worth feeling for their false comments...hmm..I just thought will do smth so that we live a better life..but you did not allow me!"
" no..we still can!"
Arushi was surprised to hear this fromPratigya. But before she could speak, pratigya asked" where did you go? Ad why ?"
"u know di, thestunts by street Romeos ...when they come to knw when any of us hav to stay alone! So I went to Tanmay's house"
" ohh ok" she tured to go inside as she said, but Arushi caught her hand and asked " what were you telling?..about bringing in change in our lives!"
Pratigya sat down n narrated hermits what was necessary..otherwise pratigya thought Arushi would feel bad thinking her sister is sacrificing her life for her.
After listening, Arushi just returned a smile. Failing to infer anything from her silence, "so my dear sister will have everything she wishes for..hai na!" she said.
"di,,,tell me are you really liking Mr. Singh..can you accept him as your partner? There's nothing surprising in him liking you...but wat about you? Your heart? Dont take any decisions to make me happy...ur life is more imprtant...more over as much as i know Isn't..."
"He is very good, Arushi" pratigya said abruptly..." I do like him. Now lemme freshen up...come lets check if we can get some water"
She had taken her decision...right or wrong...what does the future hold..she didnot know..but she made her decision. She just prayed for all three of them.
She did not want to delay in informing the decision to him. When the mind is set, why wait till evening..she asked herself. Making up her mind, she called him...he picked up " hello...Krishna here" but for her speaking didn't seem easier as she had dialed...she remained silent.

"I ...its me here"
"pratigya.."
"hmm.."
"tell me ..."

" hey..what happened dear..any issues? are you ok? Arushi fine?"
"nah..nah..no issues...it's all fine.."
"hmm..then?"
"you asked me to call you...I mean...I...you wanted me to tell smt..so...I...I mean...I...I wanna say ok"
That was a surprise to Krishna..a peasant one that...for what he had to wait till evening.,he got it in less than an hour.
"I am happy Pratigya..very happy. Ok..do one thing..apply for leave today..I am meeting you there at your place in another one hour"..
