Pratigya was shocked but didnot want to show that to him. Krishna who was intently looking at her all the while, got that.
"true Pratigya, I didn't talk about the trip to her at all. She was not even among the chosen ones for this work. When the team was finalizing various issues on the trip, she just dropped in at my cabin , offered to accompany me during the trip and demanded some amount".
Pratigya stopped breathing for a second. While she had been thinking something, the reality is something else. But, how far this man can be believed? Can Arushi stoop so low. Her changes in facial expressions depicted her chain of thoughts too.
Krishna continued, " looks like you havent been informed properly. Not able to stand his sympathy, "but you were ready to go ahead with her proposal, such gentleman?" she said sarcastically.
" I really wanted to teach her a lesson.what did she think making such a deal? I wanted her to learn. With a laugh, " meanwhile you jumped as that of a knight in armor to save her" he added.
Pratigya looked at him. "Really, didn't you think me as Bollywood masala movie villain?" he said this with a louder laugh.
The conference got over as scheduled and fine. Krishna extended the stay for all of them to see around the places. Krishna himself accompanied Pratigya for sight seeing. He behaved a thorough gentleman throughout their outing. Pratigya was really comfortable yet couldn't help having that prick.
The trip was coming to end. Next day they are to leave for their place. By evening, all had returned form their tourist spots and retired to their room for packing and stuff. When Pratigya was about to enter her room, his voice stopped her. "can you spare a few minutes. Have smth to discuss"
She moved into his room. It was a nicely furnished suite and he gestured her to sit in the sofa. She did. He moved towards the window and started staring outside the window.
Ooty is a very beautiful place, no doubt about that..but what could he possibly see anything in the night...it's so very dark outside!" she wondered. But kept mum.
Krishna carried an incredibly appealing awe inspiring attitude through out the trip...even in his simple hand or eye gesture. Now...is he nervous? Upset? Pratigya couldn't understand.
After a few minutes, Pratigya spoke. " Sir, shall I bring my system, in case if you have anything to tell me". He turned his face and looked at herr. But without uttering a single word, he again started staring outside.
After sometime, it was Pratigya who broke the silence again." sir, is it like, are you upset about something? I mean..errm..that land issue did not work out in your favor?"
He now turned to her, " land? Ohh ohh no no...that thing to materialize will take a few months. "
"ohh ok, but Sir will you update me later about this..like wat was decided on this matter!"
" you will be the first or to know from me"
with a wide grin, "ohh...that was kind of u sir, thanks much!"
Gazing at her smile, he now come closer to her, pulled a chair and sat opposite to her.
She returned him a puzzled look.
"Pratigya, tell me the amount I Give you for this work, will it be enough for Arushi's course. I guess not!"
"no sit, it won't be. Even after putting my savings, it would still not be enough!"
"shall I pay the entire amount?"
"no no Sir, I can. Thanks!"
"but how?"
"I can save...need a little more time that's all!"
"like?"
"a year..maximum.."
"will Arushi wait that long?"
Pratigya had the same doubts. She kept quiet.
Krishna continued, " I don't think she will. How many days will you run protecting her?"
"..."
"there could always be a next time..another boss...hmm? Though just a year difference, you have taken her as your responsibility. That way, providing her she rightfully wants and keeping her happy also becomes your responsibility, right?"
Huge responsibility...Herculean task..the thought itself tired Pratigya.
"to stop Arushi , there is one way. You can..only you!"
Pratigya opened up, confided in him.." it is tiring me, sir draining it is. Am so worried , don't have a clue how I gonna do?"
Krishna looked at her strangely. Was he not clear or she did not get his intentions?
"you are not getting it? Or are you avoiding? " Krishna gave a stern look.
"what is it, sir?" replied Pratigya completely puzzled.
"ohh..that means you did not really understand...! But how? Why? Ok...lemme put it across directly. Hmm..will you marry me?"
"SSS,...sir...I think ..you..no..I..I did not hear you properly. I mean am sorry sir...I ..i" Pratigya struggled to even speak.
" no your ears are fine and you heard it right. I want to marry you" Krishna said assertively.
Pratigya, not even in her wildest of her imaginations had thought these words would come from him. She was not able to get what he was saying nor could find what to reply to what she just heard. She sat there just staring at him with eyes wide open in shock.
Krishna, who was till then,nervous and stiff, returned to his usual self seeing her amazed look.
"the earth hasn't stopped rotating, Pratogya" laughed Krishna snapping his infers aga inst her face.
"I couldn't believe, sir"
"ofc , you have to believe. Then how does day and night happen?" laughed more.
"why, sir?" she asked,still surprised.
He was about to tell something but held himself for a few seconds and then continued, " I like some of ..nah..all of your qualities. You are sincere, humble, polite and strong too. Lot of good virtues. All these...
"all these?"
" I want them in my children too. Imagine, our kids with both of our qualities. We can rule the world!"
Those words gave her a wild shock...qualities in our children...even he uttered those words. Terms rolled from her eyes down her cheeks.
Krishna..."Pratigya...!! What? Whathappened now?"
" I ...I...someone loved me. I also had thought I would marry him only..."
