I am not offended by your post at all, am glad you can feel free to post your pov as a Krishna fan. I was just puzzled, as am sure many people were, by the way the cvs use the idea of purification and holiness over and over again to their convenience. This is to say, Shakti tied Abhimanyu to a post and beat him until SS made him stop, he has filled the house with the scent of his own impurity. As for Krishna, yes he has a right to be offended if his father had an affair. But didn't he himself understand that the majority of the fault is his father's? If the mistake is made by SS, why is Krishna running around trying to eradicate the scent of Abhimanyu's presence. It's as if part of him is cleaning up his father's mess by giving Shakuntala a chance to stay in the haveli til her son recovers, then another part of him still resents Abhimanyu so he has to purify the place. I could accept him trying to restore "purity" had he not given an emergency blood transfusion last week to the same man. But your explanation, in light of who the man is, makes sense. It will take time for Krishna, who has been faithful to his own wife, to recover from his father's mistakes. Abhimanyu's presence did not bother the educated Pratigya or the child Samar because they did not view him in the dark light of everyone else. Whatever happened feels like Krishna remains a gray character, reacting to two sides of his mind.
I also feel that the cvs are trying to make a statement about the beliefs of some Indian people that are hard to change. Like when Kesar was trying to "clean" the house with Piasiya of the dirt brought in by Shakuntala and her son. It felt like a continuation of that behavior, and I just had higher expectations of Krishna because they have always connected him with divine Krishna. And we know that Krishna the God is embraces everyone whether he is a farmer or a doctor.
