Who wrote that quote...it's beautiful. Thank you for sharing it. Science has yet to catch up with the miracles of the universe.

I do believe that Attitude of Gratitude + smile = happiness.

God gives us little miracles everyday and we are busy to say "Thank you" but when things don't go our EGO's way we are also the first to complain. Let's look at it this way. Would we ever gift something to someone who criticizes what we give or will we give it those who appreciate it?

Prats has been shown in the past to be praying a few times. Maybe she believes that doing special Pooja/Prayers is not necessary and praying by oneself is enough and that is why she is against all this?
Personally, even I kind of believe that it should not be necessary to have special prayers for something, and that a simple one-to-one praying session with God should be enough. Afterall, God doesn't care what elaborate method we use to pray, He probably just wants us to remember Him and ask Him for help. However, even I agree to participate in special prayers, coz anything might help when the need arises. The congregation for prayers is said to have a powerful effect bec' of the collective energies of all those assembled.

Being educated however, should not make you against all these things. But then again, everyone has their own opinions. Those who reject the presence of divinity in any form... be it nature, God, Universe or any name we give it... is in some way blocked/resistant to realizing their true self. After all everything in us is the same energy that is part of this universe. Our breath alone is proof that there is a greater power than all of us put together that is in charge of the universes, galaxies, call it what you will. We can get by with no food, water for days but breath is necessary for our physical existence.

What a beautiful and thought provoking post, Elle! sometimes things do happen in unbelievable ways; maybe they are bound to happen who knows, but it is a miracle when you are at the tether's end. Personally found Pratigya's attitude too farcical!

Thanks for explaining Mitaly 😊 Yes, if they plan on doing something like that with Pratigya, then she can refuse to participate in the pooja.

I surely do. There are little miracles happening in our lives everyday and we rarely acknowledge it. Some things are beyond scientific comprehension and scientists are beginning to acknowledge it. Doctors see miraculous recovery of people they gave up on. There is a greater power in this universe that runs the show...starting with our breath.👏

Some people, just to please, go along with their family and friend's beliefs and agree to sit through the pooja even if they don't believe in it. Children are a gift from God...they are also born to those who didn't want them and are never born to those want them.

Krishna being angry at the temple is an interesting insight into how we as humans sometimes relate to God. In this case Krishna believes God should bless Prats and him with a child bec' they are deserving and asked (PRAYED) for it. He removed the cradle when it didn't happen per his time table and doctors said it can never happen. He doesn't even have the truth about it ...only what Prats has led him to believe.😕

His ego gets in the way and he fails to see that everything that happens is always for his highest good. He may not see it in this moment but on hindsight may be relieved. How often have we said "thank goodness that didn't happen". Phew!

This situation could well be his opportunity to learn the lesson behind this situation...to know or learn something about himself and his family in a way he never has before and turn his life in a new direction.

Thank you for replying Mera 😊 Loved all that you wrote, so much to think about and reflect on. Infact, I'm so glad I made this topic, got such a variety of replies, exactly what I was hoping for.

I thought Krishna is behaving very realistically. It takes very strong faith to stay dedicated once you've been denied something you really wanted. It could be a child, a job, a college admission, marriage, whatever. Perhaps, initially even I would react the same, hopeless and despondent. It's easy to pray till you want/need something, once you've got the thing, you don't thank God enough and if you don't get it, you tend to lose faith. I loved the "time table" thought. It's something we all should keep in our minds.

This "Krishna and his faith" track is really interesting to me. I hope the CVs handle it well and give us this lesson that we cannot give up on our faith if our wish isn't fulfilled in our appointed time and way.

In my book two valuable virtues to hold on to is unlimited patience and unconditional trust in the power greater than ourselves. It's easy to say "God as we understand it is great". That is put to the test when things don't go our way when we expect things to happen. It takes a lot of courage to trust that in the larger scheme of things the universal intelligence is far superior and what we refer to as "I" or "ME" is just Ego ...Edging God Out.

What a thought provoking belief. Thanks for sharing here. Never thought of EGO in that sense 😊

Great post, Elle😊
I believe that nothing happens without God's will, eg, an operation or treatment or whatever, will only help if God wants it, in front of him, we have no power.
Medical science is so advanced, and of course i think that there are times when we have to consult doctors for health problems or like in this case, infertility, but at the end of the day, miracles can happen, and u hear of couples who had almost given up on the chance of becoming parents, and when they least expect it, the woman gets pregnant.
Its only when God decides it, that anything happens in our lives.
which is why ppl like the thakurs should understand, that u can't go around doing what you want with ppl's lives, totally selfishly, and then start praying for something when things don't go your way.
