I have been wondering about this right after UMT people said what a compromise of a life Pratigya is living after marrying Krishna. And in today's episode, Neelima said why P is not wearing modern clothes like before and that she has changed a lot.

Do you think, because of marrying Krishna, Pratigya has to let go of these things?

Personally I don't think this is entirely true. I remember on the very first episode, Prats gave away her modern clothes to her friends saying now her family won't allow it. Clearly, Saxes are also not comfortable with girls wearing modern clothes. We saw that further in the case of komal and how saxes reacted.

Yes pratigya had to compromise in their relationship and so has Krishna to make some adjustments, no doubts there.

But if Prats was to marry an educated man like Nitin or one of the Mathurs, I still see her wearing a saree like the female members of that family. Then why is it shown that P had to go through this coz she married a man like Krishna? Or did Prats friends expected P to rebel against such traditions as well? But then that goes against what she did in the very first episode and we have never seen P opposing this tradition ever. 😕

So are the cvs showing Krishna as representing the orthodox views of the society in Allhabad and other parts of the country? Are they questioning those views? I don't have a problem with it then but making it a personal attack on krishna, IMO, is not right. 😕

I hope I have come across right..Your views please 😊

Poojie nice post. But i don;t know why everybody is connecting education with dress code. i don;t like tht. so if a woman wears saree it mean she is traditional and not modern. o.k for me one has to become modern from inside it doesn;t mean if one wears jeans they r modern i have seen so many people who wears jean and mini skirts when becomes to something for the society they go on tradition if one wears saree it doesn;t mean they r traditional and not educated. we have to fusion the thinking all the myths and beliefs that has to be thrown away not the dress. i think the friend meant prats should wear what she is comfortable. she gave the dress in the train saying her dadi won;t approve and she don;t need it more also. see we all in college life is different from what we r after marriage., i don;t think K is orthodox he did so many things out of tradition. first thing is he married prats because of his love who is from different caste that itself shows it. no other prove is needed for that.,

Fully agree with u Pooja..

The Saxes themselves did not represent as modern dressing and if it was the case then both Arushi and Pratigya would have been wearing what they wanted without any restrictions..

This is not a question of uneducated person but it is down to individual and why does it have to be based on what u wear..

It seems the dialogues of the friend is not well written, IMO and the blame should not be on Krishna which is wrong because it is what P has grown up with...The friend is an educated bigot who thinks with an education she is modern which automatically equates to clothes..

Thinking has to be modern and not what u wear to reflect it...

Yes connecting education with dress code is not right.

Yes P gave the dress coz her dadi didn't approve. My question is why is shown specifically marriage to krishna has changed her?

I feel K still has some orthodox views like wife not working etc...that needs to be changed. But then that is a by-product of his upbringing.

Thanks Sheena.
Exactly. I didn't feel right right from when UMT said these lines as well. K is not to be blamed entirely.

I think because Saxes can never be wrong and this case dadi who would disapprove shows that it is easy for the CVs to blame K and root cause is husband and in laws..Its another social issue they are dealing with as in restriction of what to wear after marriage, but does not gel with the current scenario ..The real culprits are Saxes and P who followed protocol..

True. Had the cvs shown saxes being more open-minded about it, the scene and her dialogues would have been more effective. Simply blaming it on krishna, when the whole society needs to be questioned, is wrong. That's why I was wondering whether Krishna is a "vehicle" they are using to question them...

How can P be any different to what we saw of her in the initial days at college..She herself once said that all she did was study and did not go to watch films..What her friend saw was not the real P but someone who was not restricted by her family..ie Saxes..

Dont like The K vehicle being used but its always been the case, IMO..

Yes and I am surprised that she feels all this new when she has studied in Lucknow and might have brought up around the UP area...

P will defend K but also might reveal something that makes krishna think that P would want something more as well..
