The Saxes "them and us" attitude is a misplaced snobbery at the very least but mostly simple prejudice, but at the same time it is understandable given past events,

Both parties cant resist concentrating on the differences rather than for the sake of their son/daughter at least try and get on.

I have said elsewhere, the Saxes were not like this in the beginning, they were a calm, fairly rational and relaxed family.....however by acting up the way they are the makers are showing there is no difference between both parivaars - both are control freaks that flip when their own decide to use their own heads.....

Great post Mera - not an easy one to write on coz u could go on and on.....

Amma, love her children and her husband...but something is lacking in her, SS, told her to buy the yellow sari but she has enough yellow sari, would one more yellow sari hurt.😕 maybe SS, wanted to spice up the marriage a little.

My thoughts:

Saxes

The way Adarsh threw the dahi/jalebi was very childish and one should not show such disrespect to food, especially when your father is a preaching machine who continues to believe that he lives by such great ideals...He spoke of the connection that recommendation leads to corruption of mind, but how did the CVs make the correlation...Promotion is done through recommendation and networking and has very little to do with honest and hardworking....So all those who have been recommended are now corrupt...Prof words were senseless and irresponsible...Whilst at it he should have scolded Adarsh for throwing the food and wasting it because if none of the Saxes were willing to eat then some poor child on the street would have appreciated the gesture...Would that child have turned into a corrupt man because of the jalebi was paid...Was this the thinking which stopped the Prof for giving the lecture...

Komal dialogues were too good and she too has realised that no matter what effort she makes she will always remain an outsider for them and in the end the blame will fall on her...She may not be liked by a lot of people but I do like her and cringe when they turn her into a baffoon character to suit the track...I dislike how they categorise women on who should get sympathy just based on character traits which to me is an insult to women..

Takurs

I liked the glance between K and SS when K was cleverly trying to extract information out of the sari vendor...For the first time SS is proud of K of taking the step to be responsible and keep his word on using the loan for business purpose...

SS trying his luck at flirting and Amma being totally oblivious to it was classic and in some ways made amma take notice when he allowed Kesmma to take a sari....She quickly distracted herself from her sari selection and noticed that it was the yellow sari Kesmma choose to take...

The trust between Kriya seems to have been re-established...The cooking scene was more to remind us that despite amma making an attempt to be cordial with P, her innermost demons are always prominently resurface when her emotions are high

Shamu has never had a glimpse into the corporate world. For such faltu talk from an educated man makes one cringe. The higher the corporate ladder the more recommendations play a role in appointing CEO, COO and CFOs even if they are not publicly admitted. Not a word was said about wasting money from these penny pinchers.

Komal dialogues were too good and she too has realised that no matter what effort she makes she will always remain an outsider for them and in the end the blame will fall on her...She may not be liked by a lot of people but I do like her and cringe when they turn her into a baffoon character to suit the track...I dislike how they categorise women on how should get sympathy just based on character traits which to me is an insult to women..Dadi's role is becoming redundant. After Komal told her to go sit outside with a begging bowl one would think for the sake of her own self-respect she'd go for the SILENCE and do some praying instead she gets whacked with the truth from Komal every time. I too loved Komal's down to earth, honest and forthright talk without screaming like a fishwife. Naina as always goes over the top about silly matters. Maybe the thought of splitting the kitchen stoke the claustrophobia in her. Silly people every one of them. Komal is perfect to call them for their behavior which she does more and more these days.👍🏼

Takurs

I liked the glance between K and SS when K was cleverly trying to extract information out of the sari vendor...For the first time SS is proud of K of taking the step to be responsible and keep his word on using the loan for business purpose...subtle but a powerful moment between father and son. Their performances together always bring out the subtleties in their relationship.👏

SS trying his luck at flirting and Amma being totally oblivious to it was classic and in some ways made amma take notice when he allowed Kesmma to take a sari....She quickly distracted herself from her sari selection and noticed that it was the yellow sari Kesmma choose to take...Takurain's last retort to Kesamma was a reaction after she realized the sambandhji had outwitted her and chosen the saree her mard wanted her to buy. You see Amma and KN react after the fact quite a bit this way.😆

The trust between Kriya seems to have been re-established...The cooking scene was more to remind us that despite amma making an attempt to be cordial with P, her innermost demons are always prominently resurface when her emotions are high SS's reaction to her talk today will shed light on whether the rift between the senior Takurs is coming.😕

I'm sure the team that writes for Saxes must be most of the time. But the team that writes for Takurs must have one rocking time writing for them. 👏

She sees Prats as her nemesis at times bec' of what she represents. The depth of Krishna's love for Prats grates on her like sandpaper. The freedom he gives her to do as she pleases also reminds her of the supressed life she's lived. She lives life by the rigid kayda-kanoon of the family and she fears loss of control and power as the ruling queen. In matters that she is comfortable doing it her way she doesn't care if society has anything to say.

Even if a part of her as we saw at the hospital lets those walls come down to express her liking for Prats, one reminder of everything Prats stands for sends her back to her modus operandi instantly.

The young Takur's pride and wonder at successfully adding a chamach of salt to the dish was a treat to watch. Krishna tastes the food and is seriously impressed with himself. Prats explains it's their love that makes it extra tasty and Krishna is ready to be master chef and take over preparing the meal for the day. An unpud he may be but like many modern day husband he is willing to lend his wife a helping hand any time at all, something Prats's pada-lika brother is yet to offer Komal.

Yes mera - I totally agree with you.. KRISHNA and his family are more modern minded then the Sax's. Yes although Unpad.. Many times Krishna has sided with his wife in which a lot of uneducted people would have acted in their typical orthodox manner.
