This ain't the first time they have such an averse reaction to gifts of any kind. When SS came with the sagun for Krishna and Takurain did for Komal, they reacted with the same distaste and revulsion as well. It's also understandable why. After all Shamu has been a Professor all his life and never had to climb a ladder of any kind. He has been moving horizontally all his professional life that watching his son doing the vertical climb is making him dizzy. well di, the revulsion was not for the gifts but to the kind of persons giving them that.........a ruthless goon who is all set to destroy their daughter and her life, a cruel and criminal family intimidating and forcing down their lives ,chocking them..........nobody would look at the costly and precious gifts that the tormentor presents u while taking away ur life and peace in life.........to them it was not gifts it was poison.......it was goods with which the thakurs came to buy their son and daughter.....the truth of the matter is Shamu and his family are perched on their idealism throne way up there that they end up thumbing their noses at those who never spent hours drowning in books. Let me just say discussing Saxes is like a never ending chain. It was even after Prats proposed to marry Krishna they gave SS the same attitude. It was Adarsh's CHOICE to go and offer marriage to Komal for his own agenda and when the sagun was brought by SDS they gave her attitude as well. If anything at all, Krishna loved, pursued and married Krishna, what Adarsh did was downright cruel and worse than that.....he went after an innocent young girl to seek revenge for his sister and even after he married her he treated her like a pariah and crap until recently. The man knows no middle ground in life, it's all or nothing. Bottom line, the Saxes are downright judgmental about everyone who hasn't lived their lives by books. Books are important for attaining a base of knowledge to stoke one's thinking. Knowledge without thinking is a waste of time and energy one might as well just be a computer. They barely take a look at who they are and what they do, yet they are the ones that seriously need a lot of help in reflecting about their lives. Their criminal behaviors are chalked up as forgettable mistakes while even a silly mistake by a Takur is deemed a crime. Double Standards indeed! Let's not forget the way they treat Krishna knowing how deeply he loves Prats and takes care of her. When they acknowledge him it comes across as more of a lip service. One of these days Prats needs to set her family straight as part of her mission to Prats ban jayeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
In this case, it's a little late in the day to be concerned about Adarsh's integrity. He has already voiced his thirst for money to Prats at the Niwas during one of his visits. Adarsh was motivated by greed even before SS bestowed his favor of a promotion on him. This tree has been rotting at the roots under your shady care. So what do you have to say to that Shamu? Talk about some kind of faltu logic coming from a man who educates young people. It's already a case of "it's too late to put the toothpaste back in the tube." well, prof doesn't know anything about adarsh's change in attitude and behavior...........as of now....only us viewers know that...so how come he is to be blamed........πit's not for a lack of information before them. Since when did Adarsh need to bring wads of cash home when he is an officer of the bank? A promotion doesn't necessarily mean he gets tens of thousands of dollars in his very first months since his promotion. Saxes are challenged when it comes to intuitive, reflective and inferential thinking. Even after Komal admitted the money was from Adarsh they never once questioned where he got what looked like at least 20-50,000 Rupees in Komal's closet. Let's ask the question why Shamu rejected Adarshs' earnings........he believes it's tainted due to SS's aid in promotion, he never once questions if the money is earned from illegal means. Education with out reflection and thinking is a waste of time. Based on what we have seen, the Saxes have wasted a heck of a lot of time.
