I feel a little foolish. We have been screaming ourselves for the past week, begging Pearl Grey not to ruin the show - trying to tell her that it's a point of no return. Now in the light of what is continuing to happen, I realise how silly that was. There is no need to tell Pearl all this - she knows.

The Kriya story was one of the most controlled soap narratives we have seen on Indian TV. For nine months, over 200 episodes, we got everything - the frustration, the miscommunication, the anger, the obsession, the inevitability, the slow understanding, the growing love and eventually the fruition of a wonderful relationship.
Pratigya and Krishna are classy people. I don't mean they know how to eat with perfect delicacy at seven course royal banquets - I mean that as human beings they both respond and vibrate to a high order of values. For both, nothing but the best will do - the best marriage, the best love. We got a range of grey characters - Shamu's fuddy-duddy silliness, SS's comic bluster and dadagiri, Thakurain's bile, Nainaji's futile tears. Every character in MKAP is well etched.

200 episodes of such story telling is no fluke.
And this degeneration is NO FLUKE. It is INTENTIONALLY done.

The story twist is the WORST they could have chosen. For the first time, MKAP is truly regressive. This deliberate focus on the Jethani-Devrani angle (the most rubbish of all saas bahu ideas), Kesar dressing up for Shakti, Kesar being forced to receive the new bride ' all these are Kektaisms that beat Kekta herself. This serial has never before resorted to such obvious, showy gimmicks that are so cruel to the characters - there has been subtle foreshadowing but never such crass manipulation. Kriya have been made ON PURPOSE to look so weak and ineffectual - there were a dozen ways to treat that marriage scene and the creatives chose this one. Why? 😲Pratigya - the heroine Pratigya is silenced by a mere slap? Can you believe this?😲😲 Now she's making absolutely no attempt to do anything because she has been defeated, her spirit has been broken? Is this possible?😡
Now we are to have the Saxenas trying to commit suicide en masse. A defeatist storyline that shows EVERYONE in bad light. Shyam Saxena may be a man of theories only but at least IN THEORY he holds up courage over cowardice. How can he allow this?
I don't need to go on with more examples ' we all can see the difference.

What I want to know is: Why? Is this motivated by someone high-up in Star Plus? Has someone offended Pearl Grey so much that she decided to show them what a really regressive serial can be like? Has she taken up a challenge that shows how a creative head can make or break a show? Was she caught up in a rotten self-destructive mood? Why have they chosen to ruin all that they have achieved? What point are they making? To whom? Are they angry with fans for not giving them the right encouragement and credit? It can't be slipping TRPs ' MKAP is still doing very well. Programs like KBC and Bigg Boss are bound to impact everyone else but they're both going to finish in a couple of months.

What is happening here? Can someone who knows what's happening behind the scenes tell us? Some explanation? Can Telly Buzz find out? Can we ask them for a long detailed interview with Pearl? Will she take our questions?

Bubble! you echo the very doubts in my head. Till yesterday I thought that all this may have been caused by a slump in creative energy, or some wrong advice, or bad decision. I was upset about the show, thinking that a mistake is being made.But from yesterday's episode it is very clear that this is a VERY DELIBERATE - very well planned degeneration.

In this total retrogression from a extremely well-controlled drama to a highly regressive you can see the same consummate control and craft. This is NOT BY DEFAULT, this is ON PURPOSE, I totally agree.
The way Aarushi talked of Jethani-dewaraani, they over-enthu way Amma came to recieve the bride, the cardboadification of both Krishna and Pratigya, the jellification of Pratigya's spine to turn her into an average pathetic voiceless 'aagyakaari bahu' and the overall treatment of the material has proved beyond doubt that all this is being done on purpose. Maybe if the start using white flashes and 3 take edits, or rapid zooms it will further prove how deliberate this attempt is?

BUT WHY WOULD ANYBODY KILL THEIR OWN BABY - THEIR OWN BRAINCHILD???!!!

Somehow this whole self-destructive behavior, (because they know very well that they are spoiling their labour of love!) feels like someone (PEARL GREY?) is acting out of anger.

But who is the anger directed at??!

- At the audiences for not giving credit to their skill and talent? Did they decide that they were throwing "pearls before swine" (excuse the pun!😉) so they decided to dish out sh#t? But is this fair or decent behavior to all those masses of people who have given their love, loyalty and heart to this show, what ever they said or did not say?

- Is it a private challenge like you suggested bubble? Is she trying to show the difference between a good drama and a very bad melodrama. The difference between a good script and a bad one?
But then again do we the audiences deserved to be played like this? Is there a place for artistic arrogance in a medium that is so steeped in a connection with the masses?

I don't know what has caused this drastic down-slide, but I am now getting very convinced that this is a very well-planned and executed move.

but a thought occurred in my mind.............what if they intended to show another type of a woman-------a woman who would go to any lengths to avenge her lost love, here arushi(don't mind for now or ever the actress just can't do justice to such a role) ------------who is willing to sleep with a man she detests to get her revenge on those who destroyed her life...........a wild guess, otherwise i can't find no other explanation............... and also the rise of another women , kesar........(how i hate to have kesar to finally stand for her rights bec another women had come to her husband's life.....😡 if indeed this is what the CVs have in their mind).............so pratigya is stranded , forgotten...........her only purpose was to fall in love with krishna and change him (or try to change him as the CVs themselves castrated him on a daily basis)😡

It is not AArushi, yaar, the problem is Pratigya. In the eleven months of the serial have you ever seen the show close on a DEFEATED weeping Pratigya. Did you see how P and Kesar have almost been equated now? It is not to show a contrast (for that any 'Chuailtype aurat from the Badlands would have done, why take the trouble to twist-up Aarushi?) but to "ruin" Pratigya's character.
Have you ever known Pratigya to think about what has happened to her when two other people's lives are in far greater danger?
Her sister is getting into the hands of a vile vile man and ruining her life out of some action of her own (howeever well-intended). Would the old P have spared a minute for her own sad state or humiliation.
Would she have stood by weeping silently and hugging her SIl when her life is going to be ruined? Would she have suffered the indignity (TO ALL CONCERNED!!!) by leading her own sister into the den of a demon? HELL NO!
But thsi new P will do as she is told, she will be bullyied by everyone and anyone, because the want to show "a typical serial Bahu".
Why they are doing this, how they have the heart to kill their own labour of love and their basic values, I REALLY don't understand. This must be torture for any creative person. But for some reason they are doing it.

I hope this reason - whether is a BET, a CHALLENGE or simple ANGER - goes away sometime soon. I don't know if it is possible, but if they bring it into back to its core values at some point in the future we cannot erase this segment like a bad dream from our memories and carry on.

For me the best way to be able to do that is to stop watching all this %$##% now so that I have very litttle to forget!😉😆
