i liked her in that purple sari..it suited her well.

yeah, that's what. earlier soap heroines used to go with the full quota but now most heroines have a simpler night look, right? I know Akshara has a night look, don't know about Ragini, but Suhana wears nighties.
As for Pratigya's night look, I love it. She looks gorgeous.

Or the camera work which gave you a headache. Seriously, she really has not watched american soaps or english soaps. At times they go for sensationalism rather than logic or reality due to ratings war. Or may be she thinks those are template to follow.

Sorry, disagree! 😊
First and fore-most no storyteller has a moral obligation. If they claim one, as in this case they have, then it is up to them to chart the course for the character's and stories to develop so that the 'message' is conveyed.
An ACTOR is absolutely absolved of any moral alleigence with a character and has absolutely NO obligation/need to defend either the logic or the morality of their roles.
I could perhaps understand if her questions were directed at getting some insight into the motivations of the character's, but Anna's questions were directly related to the 'rightness' and 'logic' of the content of the show. No good artist looks at a role and says "oh! but this is a bad person" how can I play her?
Most actors are most expressive only in their art ie acting, they say what they have to say through that medium. Many would find it difficult to express the same character in words, but I can understand how fans may want to hear some words from them about their unique insider view of the character. But to ask an actor to defend his role is plain stupid and attack him for what his on-screen character does is just bad journalism.
I've played Lady Macbeth twice. Where would I go if someone asked me, "but how can you, don't you know she was a 'bad lady'? "
😕😆
😆 Completely agree with you! 👏

@ KCM: Thanks for posting the link. Anna's questions were 👎🏼 disjointed and confusing. Actors usually stick to their role and part of the script, they are not responsible for the underling messages that their acts deliver.

Anna's Qs on some segments of the story seeking justifications for the righteousness of it was a bit naive. Actors do not write the story, neither are allowed to openly dispute it, and I felt they were put in a precarious situation by Anna's questions , the script writer doses all the research and decides how to henceforward the message.

All in all I think mostly wrong questions were asked, resulting in, nothing achieved that is attributable to the show itself, except, the excitement that she was able rope in the star cast of Pratigya and cashed out on their fame and success.!

@ Dyehard and Bubble:Fully agreed to what you both have posted in this thread.👍🏼

i understand the motivation for the character is coming from the story writers, but i think that the actors must understand that as well to deliver the message, otherwise the message isn't right.

i believe that the pratigya cast was stumped to have such a direct question. but i think they did a good job explaining the motivation and situations- especially pooja. she is right that the girls/women are usually blamed for such situations. i to this day question why Lord Ram had to leave Sita. for being the pillar of fairness and a model human being i do not believe that act is justified. it is people's mentality that needs to be changed. and look what the show has accomplished-- it has people asking this question!!!!!!!! what was pratigya's fault if she got kidnapped? this is a big breakthrough in my opinion. ( i would agree with sajjan singh here)

Also, may be the interviewer did not see the scene from the maha episode. i think Krishna/AB and Pratigya/PG should have mentioned that scene where she questions krishna what if she was kidnapped after the marriage? the male society in India thinks to have a woman of their own. Just as purity is valued, we should also lend support to the innocent victims of heinous crimes such as kidnapping/rape/harassment.

As to why pratigya herself wanted to provide clarifications, it is because pratigya had realized that she was punishing the wrong person and she did not intend to hurt Krishna in this manner. she saw his devastated state and was trying to mend his heart. when she figured that krishna was not ready to believe her and thought of her impure, she snapped and was ready to pack her bags.

i think these interviews and conversations should be encouraged to change the face of social norm in our country. overall, pratigya cast is great and they should keep it up!

@highlighted
AB did try to say that there was a scene in which Pratigya asks him that question but his voice got drowned in the chorus of voices. 😕😆
In any case, seeing the proportion of times P tried to tell him she was pure vs telling him about society's unjust demands for purity - the interviewer had a point. But basically she was trying to put them on the spot and say your show's feminist heroine is herself regressive - so what have you achieved? The fact is that Pratigya is also a complex love story not merely a jhanda carrying series of daily bhashan. Their agenda is to influence over a long period of time, not just dialogue baazi. The CVs want to bring about social change THEIR way - slowly and over time, but that is not enough for many people who just want naarebaazi.

I agree with you soapbubble. the art is to slowly bring about the change rather than crude lectures. the strong leads of the show and stories are the best approach.

t anna asked question regrading angad kidnap case was logical
the way anna asked the questioned 2 pratigya team " wat was prats fault & why should she gave her purity explanations 2 krish"
and the way komal and prats justify her question in simple way but anna could not understand ther explainations

the way pooja justify by giving example for all reason society will blame girls only t wass good ,

but pratigya cast should have told her in clear way tat " the way kidnap case was reveled in the court its hard for krish 2 belive prats even though krish loved prats he wnt 2 belive her; by knowing angad and his friends mentality and since the 1st day angad wnt 2take revenge 2 prats by knowing his evil intentions ,it was difficult for him 2 belive prats ; more over prats behaviour 2 wards krish since marriage was rude and his upbringing mentality ,for all tis reason krish was unable 2 belive prats.
prats was feeling guilty becauz she has hide the truth and was punishing wrong guy , wen krish knows the kidnap case and the way he supported prats in front of his family
wen prats saw krish in emotional , heart wrenching and deprission state and however he controlled his emotions infront of his family wen krish asked why she hide the kidnap case from him she was shocked by krish depression state; prats only wnted krish 2 belive her and dont wnt krish 2 spoil his life .

in maha episode after knowing krish intentions prats has raised excellent questions and packed her bags and decided 2 leave krish

tis serial has convey kidnap message was clear.
in indian society regrading kidnap/ rape case in case of educated or uneducated people their mentality in tis regrads are narrow but in some educated background take in a broder senses.

i like prats in night saree with simple make up and little jewelry she looks great in all night sarees

Some really good posts here on the interview and I have nothing fresh to add!
However for what its worth I too was a little dissapointed with the answers given by our lovely actors but will console myself by believing they probably too knackered to answer anything that serious!
I have to say, when you think about it, 12 hour shifts 7 days a week, even if you are being paid well, is going to leave your head reeling - after all their effortd go into their creativity and skill at portraying their characters - but their own individualities must seem so numb at the end of the day that they must have been flummoxed!
I actually thought Parvati handled herself even better than Pooja, so good on you girl - and for jumping in and trying to at least answer a question that had everyone gobsmacked- that was so uncomfortable!
Having said all of this I'm afraid I dont subscribe to the camp that feels it was too much to expect from the actors - frankly, even if they didnt know their own characters perspective (which in itself is a little bit shocking) they could talk candidly about their own opinions
I wonder though how much clamping goes on thier mouths about what they can and cannot say - the three younger actors in particular came across as very "achche bachche" and towing the party line whereas Anupam could at least draw upon his own tajurba as an actor and a mature individual to illustrate his answers.
I thought the presenter's questions werent that bad, and you cannot protect theseactors from answering them to a degree - it is supposed to be a groundbreaking serial and is supposed to tackle some hard hitting issues and the main protagonist is definitely hyped as someone who doesnt take anything lying down - so loopholes in logic are there to be exploted when that message is contradictory.
I, as a viewer, dont expect these actors to be philosophers or public speakers by any means, but I dont expect them to be mere eye candy or air heads either.
In my opinion, they were a combination of young and seasoned individuals in a high profile situation and franklly I expect them to be able to deal with it - which they did - albeit not fantastically - but then they would not have lines, script or time to rehearse their answers.
Notwithstanding I still adore this serial and all the characters! :)
