Good post Kool.
I've finally watched the last 5 episodes including the father-daughter scene. What can I say......I wasn't moved by it. The scene fell flat to me.......I was reminded of all the facts you listed, all the times the Saxes had conveniently let go of their "stand by the truth" moto because it suited them. The scene screamed hypocrisy to me While I would still not adhere to their idealistic way of dealing with things, had they been true to what they preach I would have have more respect for them.
The other reason I didn't like this scene was because it reminded me of one of pratigya's character trait I don't like --- she is rarely shown reflecting about her past actions and the collateral damages they have brought with them. She came there to have reassurance from her dad (as she knew he would) that she wasn't wrong in tackling this case the way she did --- she wasn't interested in hearing another opinion hence her dismissal of her mother's thought. I've read in this forum that at least pratigya has learned a lesson --- you can't win if the victim isn't willing to fight. I respectfully disagree. This convo has reinforced pratigya's belief that whatever she did was the right way of doing it and that maybe it didn't work this time because all (unlike her) are not brave enough to face the truth.... I would not be surprised if in futur episode she is shown asking kesar 'why did you take back the complaint? you didn't do the right thing didi' ....I feel for kesar. Bechari has already a lot to deal with ........and adding to her plight, she will now feel guilty (seeing pratigya being taunted/humiliated by the Thakurs) because she supposedly didn't support pratigya in her fight for justice .....something which she wasn't determined to do to begin with.......
