Thakurs - Foe, not family. Or $#%%& the Thakurs!

After that beautiful night😳 and that lovely morning glow on Krishna😃, Amma's poisoned words came like shower of icy water! I can imagine how every single person watching it must have groaned in dismay. Itne sundar sham ke baad aisi daraawni subah! I am sure only the second or third viewing must have exposed the underlining humour of the situation, because Amma's reaction, looks and words were so venomous.

Many have said that Pratigya should not have stolen the clothes, others think the terrace was a bad idea, some say subah-subah uTke clear-up karna chaahiye tha. In another kind of household, perhaps all this would have avoided displeasure, or raised eyebrows, not in this one! For instance I can imagine that if this happened in the Saxena's house, say between Aadarsh and Komal, for all their respectability and prudishness, the reaction would have been very different. Shyamji might have been a bit embarrassed and frowned at Aadarsh, but would never have spoken about such things in front of a DIL and daughter. Nainaji would have giggled, Aarushi would have teased, and Dadi would have mumble under her breath about "aaj kal ke bachche" and told Shyam in private that he had spoilt his children. Here in this house, even if no other indication of the night was given apart from Krishna's radiant face, even then Amma would have been as bitter as she is now. Jab kisi ko kisi aur ki khushi raas hi nahi aati, unhe khush kaise kiya jaaye? Apne hi aulaad ka hasta chera nahi dekh paaye woh log! Krishna was just trying to get to his room, the decent thing would have been to let him get out fast. What Sanskaari persons conduct a body-inspection of a man when they suspect that he has just had a rocking night with his own wife? These people don't represent family! They represent that oppressive and repressed societies that hate all things that make a person more than a weak ineffectually cog in a system of fundamentalist subjugation and societal deep-conditioning. They hate anyone with the qualities of courage, a strong and vocal gut, and intelligence and above all they fear the power of Love. They themselves find that they don't have the strength for true love and are therefore jealous and chary of it when they see it in others.

Nisha asked in another post, 'why does SS hate Pratigya'. My take is this ' he does not hate her, he FEARS her. Her strength her conviction and the transforming nature of her love. He noticed that the son he had trained and brought up to be this "MARD ' Thankur" in the most abysmal sense of the word,😡 has somehow acquired the mind and heart and strength to question the SYSTEM! His daughter-in-law, the trained house-cow was suddenly acquiring the guts to raise her eyes, with questions in them! He realized that all this was emanating from one source ' Pratigya 'her ability to love. It is this love which comes with immense reserves of power and ability for change which is a threat to his carefully created myth of power-hierarchies. That is why he wants Pratigya dead.

It is because the Thakur's represent only the ethos of systematic oppression and NOT FAMILY that I think Krishna and Pratigya should not be the least bit concerned about their reactions. They both should just continue as they are, because no amount of good manners and consideration will please somebody who is determined to hate.

P.S Another topic for a song/attitude recommendation for Pratigya coming up!

Nice post Dye. Agree with what ur saying..SS doesnt hate Prats but I guess he is afraid that he might loose control over his family which he has ruled for many years with everything except LOVE...He has seen how just a one encounter with Prats has changed his favorite son fundamentally and honestly he is feeling insecured with the relation of KRIYA as he knows only they are in the house who can challange SS openly and Prats is Krishna's weakness ..that K can not see anything beyong Prats and thats y he is determined to get rid of Prats so that he can have his son and old ways of ruling the house back...🤢

Thanks! Both Amma and SS don't want anything to disturb the paradigm they have invested in so heavily!😕
