this whole time he never wanted Kris to know about Prats kidnapping so when he had the opportunity to get out of jailed he didn't take it and wanted to be stubborn and pay for what he did and still have the kidnapping truth be kept a secret....did he not realize during the court heating this truth would of eventually have came out!!!!! IDIOT you should of got out when SSingh came to save you!!!! at least this way Prats could of told Kris in her own way rather than blowing the truth up in the court and Kris feeling like he's been betrayed....what a selfish father!!!!!!!

He is not selfish, but stupid. He went to jail thinking that the story would never come out, and he preferred to stay in jail which was a selfless act - shows that he will do anything for Pratigya's happiness, even sacrifice his life and principles. But he is so stupid. How could he not expect the truth to come out? I mean, why did he meet with Angad and go to such an isolated place in the first place, that also when it was raining so heavily? Would the court not have suspected that? Why does this family suck the life out of everyone? But I always feel bad when he gets insulted by the Thakurs time and again.

The lawyer Aman was totally useless.
