Pratigya shouldn't apologize as she is not at fault here. She should also not apologize because if she gives in today, then the family nor Krishna will never understand their mistakes. They will continue making mistakes in the future. She didn't create a scene. It was all Krishna's doing...he forced her to tell a lie. Why should a woman/daughter-in-law always be at fault. Krishna has to step up and accept his mistake.

Its so shocking to read some of the views here. In most Indian TV shows, the female protagonist is shown as weak, mindless, spineless, sacrificing character who takes any crap from her husband and in-laws. These characters are very much criticized by the viewers.

Pratigya is one character who can stand up for herself and has a backbone but she is also criticized for the very same reason. What does the viewers really want to see ?

She did nothing wrong IMO, it was not her fault then why should she apologize. It was Krishana and her sasur who humiliated her so much. The irony here is, her husband brought her back forcefully. 😆

I do understand where Krishna is coming from and can find reasons to justify his behavior to some extent. But to use such harsh words for Pratigya is so not right. Which girl would like to have a husband like Krishna who uses force on her ?

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. Pratigya shouldn't apologise for anything she didn't do. Fair enough - if it was a small useless matter, then it doesn't matter who says sorry. But here Krishna is blatantly wrong - then why should she apologise at all?

Put yourself in her shoes and then try and understand why she didn't say sorry. If you were married to someone with Krishna's personality and a family like his; I'm sure nobody would be the least bit happiest. Some are just being biased here because they could either be Team Krishna (I'm not sure what you call it). But think as a female and it won't take you long to figure out that Pratigya is right.

I agree with you 100 %. Just because we all want to see Krishna and Pratigya finally together doesn't mean we can ignore the main story. You said everything I wanted to say! 👏

Now Pratigya is his wife, a relation is there and he crossed that line and physically abused her for a mistake that was his to begin with. We cant even say Pratigya was at fault, if she was then that is a different discussion. But here we we can all agree it was Krishna's fault, so in which galaxy should one be abused for mistakes not committed. I thought I lived on planet earth, where theoretically speaking atleast it is the guilty that gets punished.

oh ok so she slapped him when they were in no relation at all?

The whole pregnancy episode was wrong. And I agree.
I don't know what Krishna was thinking.
But then before that as her husband Krushna has never behaved badly with her. He tried to woo her through out. He did things that were not common in the men of his community. HE was called names by his family but he was there for her. That is not noticed by Pratigya fans.
Did he ever gave Pratigya any complaints till the slap.
The slap was not totally anger slap. HE was disheartened in her behaviour. If you see the expression in that scene he could not believe his ears that his "Pratigya" ji was telling all this in fron to fhis family and disgracing her husband.
The family he comes from he thinks that a wife shoudl take care o fher husband.
In her own family Naina ji is shut uped by Shyam ji and dadi...That is nothing.
People are trying to hand on to the traits of the family and community and totally ignoring hte fact that Krishna has changed himself for Pratigya but Pratigya hasn't sone anything yet.
He has been giving love..the way he knows to her..but he is getting rebuked in return.
Ther eis a limit for everything adn Pratigya is pushing him to the wall. It is Krishan he will react after being pushed to the wall. The same way as Pratigya reacted..she married him...
But she did not give a thought to What responsibilities comes with the marriage...
She wanted to be a good bahu but she never tried ot be a good wife....and it does not involve beating. I am 100% sure htat if she showered little respect and love onto Krishna he would have never ever hit her.
He cut his hand after he slapped her.....this shows repentence onhis part.
But Pratigya has guilt only fo rhe family not for Krishna and her behaviour towards him.
This is going too far....AS a character sketch of Pratigya.
To me she is not a STRONG WOMAN but a ZIDDI woman.

Violence is violence and should be measured as unacceptable whether it's a woman or a man who commits it. Why the double standards? When a man slaps a woman it's called he's showing off his mardangi and when a woman slaps a man she is defending her izzat and therefore justified? That's bogus! In this day and age if women want equal rights with men then the playing field should also be on equal footing. But the reality is nature has determined that in some ways women will pay the price in certain situations. If a woman is attacked and raped there are life long consequences or even result in murder. So it is always better to be safe than sorry.

Didn't Pratigya learn anything after she slapped Angad? As Krishna told her she better know how to tackle a poisonous snake before she goes anywhere near it. She was running away terrified on the two occasions Angad chased her down the streets of Allahabad? Where was her strength then? That didn't stop her. She slapped Krishna at her engagement twice. He showed more control and didn't hit her back. Why didn't the Prof. give her the baashan then about the consequences for a woman to go around slapping men on the streets to prove her point? For someone who claims to stand up for her family's izzat this immature girl has single-handedly managed to bring down two families by her choices and decisions. Today her ziddi created a situation that caused the favorite son of the house to walk out on his family. Her family on the other side of town is reeling from the truth that they just found out about Angad. Both families are paying for her actions. When will she ever learn her lessons?

I second Mera totally .
Why this hypocrisy in this slap issue
Woman can slap , man cannot
Woman needs apology Man shud not demand basic respect even
The slap shud it seems feel justified from INSIDE......who is to decide this justification
Any amount of maayka faults r pardoned [ Dadis venom] but sasural faults shud be magnified
Hum educated hai , shareef hai shud be said in two two minutes in every sentence.......and if Thakurs say hum Thakur hai in any sentence , contemptuous glances shud be given to them and they shud be called JAAHIL
Is Ego only of wealth and caste ? Is there no such thing called intellectual ego that saps human feelings ?........Example Prof Shaamu and Beti Pratigya madam .
Insulting hubby left right and center in every possible way is sanskaar when he tried to please her from day one
Being unafraid all the time but claiming to be afraid and hence participating in the lie is not hypocrisy it seems
Instead of understanding the uneducated jaahhils by trying to connect with them by continuing to live there ............hubby is saying , just say sorry , I will manage the rest , yet ignoring and doing Tu Tu Mai Mai with them is it seems Atma Samman
I want to see what Atma Sammaan ishe will show in front of Angad and for this alone I wish Krishna dumps her at least for a brief time.

Fabulous post! Excellent points. 👏 Just a small change in her attitude towards Krishna and he would have been the man she wanted him to be, he would have given her the world. He still continues to stand against his own family, his world as he knows it, all for her. How much more does he have to give and for how long before she will value him his love and as her husband? Will she give herself the same punishment she is metes out to Krishna without a second thought? She needs a mirror desperately to take a nice long look at herself and do something to change the course of her life before it is too late and someone pays a high price.
