I am saying that abuse of any form dealt by man or woman cannot be justified except in extreme cases of life or death. In this drama, in both cases, the situation was not extreme to justify either one of them slapping the other. There were other options available. There were a room full of people to support and defend her. Strength of character does mean slapping a stranger at an engagement party publicly, nor does it mean publicly humiliating one's spouse in public. Both of them need to examine their own behaviors and figure out why they are pushing each other's buttons and why they are reacting to each other the way they do.

Only then do they have a chance to forgive each other for past mistakes and misunderstandings, and rebuild their relationship or go their separate ways. It's up to them to figure out if they matter to each other at all enough to build a healthy marriage.

So, if you abhor violence of any sorts, no matter what the provocation or circumstances, you must have loathed Krishna when he thrashed the daylights out of Angad? But, as far as I remember Krishna-lovers were swooning in ecstacy over that incident. i guess what's sauce for the goose is not sauce for the gander.
