hi guys im just wondering why is there a big issue about what caste pratigya belongs to and why the dad keeps on bringin it up....im an american so i dont get the whole system...can anyone expalin to me whats the difference between krishna and pratigya and why its such a big issue

same here i m canadian but i think it is because Thakur's are rich and powerful while Pratigya's family is middle class...It is jus a guess 😉

Yes,in India ,Caste is a Big issue among the Hindus,Hindu Religion is divided into more than 6000 castes.When it comes to marriage,it is a regulation that your spouse must be from the same caste you belong but the Gotra( Breed) must be different.Same caste but different gotra,this is the main criteria in Hindu marriage..now a days people do inter caste marriage,but in various part of India caste system is still very powerful.
