Part 93

Chandra secretly left for Pauravdesha, shashank was with him. Nayantara stayed with Nandini to give her company. She was mother of her son and vied to make him successor of Asakya but the ruler of Asakya was smart and he easily accepted Chandra as his Emperor crushing her ambitions, it was one of the main reasons she married Shashank besides loving him. Nandini was also happy she now has a friend who wasn't her co wife so that she could forget her sorrows. Durdhara also liked Nayantara because she was wife of Chandra's one of the closest friends who helped him making the Emperor.

Nandini was talking to Nayantara....Nayantara said, it must be hard for you with Agramahishi around. Nandini said, since he married her he rarely visited me and whenever he did only to ask about my well being and to comfort me. He does all this just out of guilt. Nayantara says, don't think like that. You are just a queen, he's an Emperor. He has a lot to do. Nandini says, yeah I try to convince myself by making excuses like this. Nayantara said, forget everything. It's such a nice weather, let's go outside. She said, I am not in mood. Suddenly Durdhara entered, Nayantara and Nandini got up and she sat with them. Durdhara said what my sisters were talking about. She said, Agramahishi we were thinking of having a walk outside. Durdhara said, even better, there's a future teller who has arrived in. Antahpura, if you allow I will call her. Nandini said mockingly, Antahpura is yours Agramahishi, you can call whosoever you want. Durdhara said, but you are Mahadevi, I need your permission too. Nandini says, you are so kind Agramahishi. Otherwise beloved of Emperor rarely have such decency. They both had an eye war which Nayantara understood and tried to calm the situation. She said, oh yeah it will be nice. Durdhara told Dasi to bring the future teller. She entered and saw the faces of the ladies. She first saw Nayantara and said, you....you love your husband dearly but there is someone else in his heart who can never be his.... Nayantara remembered Shashank mentioning Swarna and how much he loved her but he can't express it as she is married now. Nayanthara became sad. She said, don't worry my lady, that lady may be in his heart but she can never be his because she is bound to become an Agramahishi. Durdhara was shocked because she knew she was talking about Swarna. She got up and shouted what the hell are you saying..... future teller saw her and smiled, please sit Agramahishi....she saw Nandini and said, you want love of your husband......but he doesn't.......she smiled.....Mahadevi, he already loves you but doesn't want to express it due to some reason and she saw Durdhara. Nandini felt a little better hearing this. Durdhara became more angry listening to this. Nandini asked will I be becoming a mother in future? She said, no one can stop this, you will be a great mother....... Nandini got extremely happy annoying Durdhara more but she kept a fake smile on her face to not show her annoyance. Nandini gave a bag full of coins to the future teller. Then she looked at Durdhara and made a sad face..... Durdhara said What happened? Why you became so serious? She said Agramahishi be careful, specially of food. Durdhara laughed and said food? She said yes Agramahishi. Food is life but it can also take life. Durdhara said, how food can take someone's life? Future teller had tears in her eyes and said, just stay careful of food. Durdhara was confused and so were everyone. Nandini thought food? She further said, you will be mother of an illustrious son Agramahishi. Durdhara became happy. His intellect and courage will be unmatchable and he will be Slayer of foes. Durdhara happy and gave her a very precious KanthHaar. She bowed. She further said, your son will be heir to the throne, no one can change that. It's decided by Gods. Durdhara was extremely happy while Nandini was only faking it. Nayantara said, now biggest question, who does Emperor love the most? Nandini was annoyed and she rolled her eyes while Durdhara became shy..... Fortune teller saw the two ladies and then closed the eyes.....She said.....Samrat will fall very hard in love, he won't be able to recover from it. Durdhara said will? What are you saying? Who will rule his heart? Future teller said, Samrat's whole body will be ruled by a rose...... Durdhara angrily got up and shouted he hates roses, I hate roses. You are a liar. Teller smiled and said, no one can change the fate which is decided by him. She pointed to the sky. Durdhara became more angry.. future teller said, Agramahishi, you will be Queen Mother, Mahadevi will be a big support but his senses will be ruled by someone else.....and she will be equally in love......they will be the most passionate couple and suddenly Durdhara slapped her hard......Nandini and Nayantara got up....she shouted leave with your money or else I will be blamed of killing an innocent.....Future teller smiled and bowed and then she left. Nayantara also bowed and left with her son..... Durdhara's whole face was red with anger....Nandini chuckled and she patted her shoulder and said, my dear friend, looks like my curse will eventually work.......... Durdhara turned back and said, my dear friend, I will break any curse........I will change Niyati.........

Part 94

Chandra reached Pauravdesha and was greeted by Malayketu and his wife. It didn't look like they were formed enemies. Malayketu was ruling Pauravdesha with sincerity and Chandra praised him. Malayketu credited his wife for his change of heart and Chandra smiled. He said, Samrat I have called a really talented painter from Bactria. He's very good. Let him paint a picture of you. He has painted us and he showed him his painting. Chandra was mesmerized, he said it's very beautiful, the artist seems really talented. I will surely grace him to make my painting and if I like it I will invite him to Magadha to make painting of myself and Durdhara together. Malayketu smiled. Later the painter entered Chandra's room and he bowed to him. Chandra said, so you are that talented painter? He said, yes sire. He said, tomorrow I will sit in garden and I want you to make a painting of me, how much time it will take, he said probably one prahar. He said fine, I can spare tomorrow but not longer than that. Painter said I will not disappoint you sire. Chandra told him to leave but as he was leaving a painting fell from his bag and he didn't notice. Chandra saw it and told his guard to give that painting to him. He gave it to him. Before he could open the painting of smelling like roses and this was the first time he liked the smell. The painter had asked for Helena's attar instead of money for her painting and he spread it over his copied painting. Chandra was intoxicated with the smell , he inhaled it passionately and said .......ah.....his guards were concerned as they thought it might be something poisonous. But Chandra felt a weird sensation all over his body. He thought, such wonderful smell ......it's going in my head, I am unable to think........he wanted to open the painting........but before that guards informed him that Malayketu was waiting for him, Chandra put the painting in his bag himself, he didn't allow guards to touch it and left.... The smell of Helena's attar was still in his mind making him feel weird. He thought......why am I suddenly liking roses? What's happening? I am unable to think......why such feelings in my heart...............

The clouds were assembling making oracle says.....the time is slowly coming near, she saw Helena who was talking to her friends and laughing......she thought, my dear your destiny is calling you..........................he has already started his way towards you, now it's your turn ........... Aphrodite will not spare you two.....

Durdhara went to Acharya asking for permission to go to Pauravdesha but he denied. He said, Durdhara you have to manage everything here. She told him all about future teller. He laughed and said, my dear child, you responsibilities can't waiver over predictions. Don't fret over such things. You are an Empress. Carry yourself like that. Look at Nandini, did she fret over? She didn't, be brave, be strong, nothing can harm Chandra and your love. You will see when your precious love will be in your hands...your son.....future of the dynasty... Durdhara was soothed by Acharya's words. When she left Acharya thought, food? I must save Durdhara, she's like my daughter. I cannot let anything happen to her................

Later the painter came to take back his painting but his guards told him to go away, later when they told Chandra he became furious and said, I will not give it back (he hadn't opened the painting yet). Give him coins instead...no matter how much he demands...the anger in his tone made guards frightened...the painter left disappointingly, he did not take any money. He thought, oh no I lost the painting of the princess. Did he see the painting? It can be the only explanation he doesn't want to give it back. Who will give back such a beauty? Now the painting is his.....and he left......to prepare to make painting of Chandra....

Part 95

Helena was talking to her friends. She said, really? You guys are going to Taxila? She said, yes. Helena said, I want to go there. I visited there as a child and it improved my health. I want to go there and I also want to return this ring to Sandrocottus telling him that I am not a thief. Her friends laughed, one said queen will not allow you. She said, but I am bored. Antiochus is involved in decisions but I am not. What am I supposed to do, sit all day in this palace doing nothing. I want to have adventure. I will go to Taxila, to Sandrocottus.....and a big thunder happened..........Oracle laughed....she said, Princess if you want to go ,you must go......Helena became happy but suddenly Apama entered and said No Helena, you will not go anywhere. Your father and brother had gone to outer regions to take notice of the situation and you are planning to have a trip, I will never allow it, Helena started crying....why you always do this? Please let me go.......Achilles asked for permission to enter and he was allowed. She was annoyed to see him. Achilles thought if Helena is alone he might have a chance to confess his feelings. He said Queen I will go with her....Helena said ,yes mother if Achilles is with us you don't have to worry. She said I will not send you without permission of your father. Helena got sad and said Father will not come soon, it may take months even years....now I will never go to Taxila......Oracle said, you cant stop her Apama even if you want to.....Helena will go there......Apama said and who are you to decide that...she laughed and said.....it's not me it's him and she pointed to the sky.....Apama said fine Helena do whatever you want but if you father gets angry I will not save you this time.... Helena became happy and Achilles smirked...... Helena said, Sandrocottus, I am coming.........

Chandra came to his room in night and quickly went to sleep..but.he couldn't sleep because that Attar's scent was still haunting him giving him weird pleasure...he woke up in distress and slight anger for why he was feeling this way.....he saw his bag and quickly went to find that painting.......he took it and again smelled it....the scent was so good, it was absolutely intoxicating for him....he moaned and said....such a sweet smell...........and he slowly opened the painting and when he saw it , he was shocked..........he stared it for many minutes without blinking, his eyes became watery and he took a heavy breath. It was paining of Helena.....he said, so......... beautiful..........this painter's imagination is beyond this world.....this girl looks like an apsara in Indra's court.................no woman in this existing world can be this beautiful......he didn't want to put it in his bag and with very heavy heart he put it in his bag and sighed.........at this moment he couldn't think of anything except this imaginary girl..........attar scent was spread in his head.........he said to himself, what is happening to me? I must leave for Taxila......the climate change is taking a toll on me. I am having weird feelings....... I must meet swarna now....he longed to meet her now more than ever as he wanted to divert his mind from this imaginary painting...he went back to sleep and said after tomorrow I will quickly leave for Taxila.........and he again moaned....he felt pain in his heart............

Next day the painter made his painting, everyone saw it and praised the painter. He gave him many coins and jewellery but the painter was sad. Chandra asked what happened painter? The painter said, sire my creation, it got lost...Chandra said oh that painting, it's with me......you refused to take payment for it.....Painter said, Sire the painting was very dear to my heart........Chandra said forget about it, it's mine now , I am still ready to offer money for it.....your imagination is really amazing, I have never seen such a beautiful imaginary lady....painter was shocked to know that he thought Helena was imaginary but he didn't tell him the truth as Helena was his princess and he wanted to keep her identity hidden......Chandra said, I will put this painting in my room......what do you want in exchange? Painter said, you liked my creation and appreciate it, no greater gift is for an artist than appreciation. Chandra laughed and said, yeah but stomach can't be filled with appreciation and he gave him more jewels and money. Painter said, you are very kind and generous Sire......no one is more generous Emperor than you. He bowed and left disheartened as Helena was now lost to Chandra.............

Part 96

Chandra reached Taxila soon and it was the day of marriage of Chaya. Everyone welcomed Chandra and Shashank. Mura and Swarna were with Aarti Thali while Chandransh and Priyadarshini were standing with them. Mura did the arti while Swarna and Chandra gave a mischievous eye lock to each other while Shashank was sad seeing Sindoor in her hairline and her children, oblivious of the fact that she was one of the queens of his Emperor. Chandra saw his children and they touched his feet but he couldn't hug them as he didn't want to reveal the truth. Chaya's marriage celebrations started. They got married and everyone was teary eyed but Chandra's eyes were only on Swarna who was looking ravishingly beautiful. He thought, my dearest consort is so beautiful but not as beautiful as that imaginary lady.....wait what the hell am I thinking.....that painting is not going out of my head.......and he became angry on himself for comparing Swarna with a painting........later Pushya and Chaya took blessings of everyone including Chandra....it was late night.....Swarna went to her room and when she closed the door someone hugged her from the back.....he kissed her shoulder and said I missed you so much....she turned back and kissed him....she said....I missed you a lot my Emperor and they were locked together in each other's embrace for a long time......neither of them wanting to be apart.....he kissed her forehead and said my dearest consort...she laughed and said, isn't she Durdhara? He picked her up in arms and took her to their favourite place which was their bed......he kissed her again.....he said she's my Chief queen, my beloved but you are my dearest.....she said, what's the difference.....he kissed her again and said......I don't compare my wives.....I missed you so much.........and they made love after so long.....later she asked him about everything which happened in these years...and as they were talking she said, Chandra are you wearing rose perfume? Chandra got shocked......he said am I? Swarna said, Chandra you hated rose perfume, she smiled and said did Durdhara influence you to wear it......he got really upset that he was so intoxicated by that attar that he wore rose perfume just to have that sweet smell with himself. Chandra said .........my love ....I.....yeah I ...wore it....for .....Swarna asked is someone else in your life? He was shocked and said, no.......what do you think of me? A womaniser? He asked it angrily....she said, no but I was shocked, you couldn't stand roses smell.....thats why I was shocked, he said people change Berenice (he said it in Yavan language). This was the first time someone took her real name and talked to her in father's language. Swarna was hell confused.........she was shocked to see this sudden change in him....he hugged her and said I missed your curly hair and brown eyes.....Swarna was more shocked and she said, Chandra I have golden eyed and straight hair...even Nandini and Durdhara have black eyes and straight black hair......Chandra was shocked as he described Helena's features........he angrily woke up smd left the room......Swarna was shocked, she said what is happening to him? He went to bathroom and washed his face angrily with water, he splashed himself with water to get rid of rose perfume.......... He said, I will focus only on my work here...... nothing else.......... absolutely nothing......and he looked determined. Next day....Swarna and everyone were eating together, Chandra was playing with Chandransh and Priyadarshini....the kids didn't know he was their father and Shashank was confused seeing so much love for them in Chandra's eyes just like a father. He saw Swarna who was happily watching them. Shashank thought, is it what I am thinking? But how can Chandra betray me like this? Did he? What happened? I didn't see Swarna's husband. I can't question Chandra but can ask Swarna.

Part 97

Shashank asked for an audience with Swarna ...Swarna said, how nice to meet you old friend. Shashank was just staring at her with teary eyes and she got uncomfortable. She said, did you have to say anything? He said, oh yeah, I wanted to meet your husband. She said, he's on a business trip, he may not come for even a year or more. Shashank says, oh....he said, Swarna you always wanted a warrior, why did you choose a trader? Swarna, it's my choice Shashank and I don't have to explain my personal life to you, aren't you married and a father already? Have some boundaries and she was about to leave and Shashank said, I am hurt. Swarna says, it's your problem. I am very happy and my children are proof of my love for my husband. Now I don't want you to talk to me unless it's really important. Shashank says, I am sorry, I think I wanted a closure. She said, you should have had that when you married your wife. He said, she was ready for a co wife. Swarna said, again that's your own problem, not of my concern. She went away in anger and Shashank had tears watching her go away. Swarna was walking when she saw Chandra playing with Chandransh and Priyadarshini. She smiled and went to them. Chandransh said, Samrat I will grow up to be a warrior like you. Chandra said, of course my child, you will be a great warrior. He kissed his cheeks. Priyadarshini said, mother never let us meet father, you should become our father, you love us so much.....he saw Swarna and they became sad....He said, you are my daughter.....Swarna was shocked, Priyadarshini was very happy...he said, for an Emperor his praja is like his children, Priyadarshini said, Really? He said, yes.....and she hugged him. Swarna started crying.....he came to her and wiped her tears, children were too busy to notice it...Chandra said, don't be sad. Swarna says, I am not, I am just overwhelmed sometimes. I am so happy you are here. I missed you so much and they hugged..... suddenly he saw Shashank watching them in shock.....but Chandra didn't break the hug, he kissed her head to hint him he was her husband. Shashank got tears in his eyes......Chandra thought, I am sorry Shashank but you needed this closure, for your own good.

Part 98

Chandra met Shashank and said If possible forgive me. He said what's to forgive, you two chose each other. He said, not us but Acharya. If not for Acharya I wouldn't marry anyone else other than Durdhara. It's a long story. Shashank said, you don't owe me an explanation. You are my Emperor, your wish is my command. Chandra smiled. I am glad you don't have any grudges. Shashank said yeah because I like head on my body. And they both laughed. Shashank said sorry for my indecency, if only I had known. Chandra said don't bother. Shashank said, Chandra are you wearing rose perfume? Chandra said what? Doesn't smell went away? Shashank said but you did wear it. I thought you hated it. Chandra said, I did and I still do. Shashank said, then why the hell did you wear it? Chandra said forget about that Shashank. I wanna meet my Amatyas here. I want to know what's ruler of Bactria trying to do. He had rage in his eyes. He said, if he tried to harm my people I will snatch his most beloved possession.... And Helena went down from her carriage and put her foot on land of Taxila. Suddenly a slow breeze blew and her hair were flowing in the wind meanwhile Chandra suddenly remembered her scent and took a long breath and sighed........his eyes again became watery..... Shashank said what happened Chandra? He shockingly said, I don't know....he shouted I don't freaking know.... and he left in anger... He thought in anger, I will rip that painting apart......

Part 99

In night he went to his room and with anger took that painting and when he opened it he again got lost in that scent and her beauty. He constantly stared at her. He drank water in his glass while staring at that painting....his throat got parched again and he drank four glasses of water. He thought, it's better to burn this painting and as he lit it and it started burning he got panicked and started to stop it with his hands, he said what have I done. Except the painter's name nothing got burnt and he was relieved. He thought, why am I so obsessed with this painting? Is it because of the art of something else? The smell of attar was so strong it was still there, he inhaled it and sighed.........he took rose perfume and spread it all over him...again.......he put the painting in a box.......and closed it. He said, I will never open this box again. Suddenly someone knocked at his door, Shonottara came and she smelt the perfume , it was strong. she has no right to ask questions to him but as a friend she asked, Sire did you wear roses perfume? He said, apparently I did my dear. Come forward....she came forward, he touched her chin and said can you do something for me? She said anything. He said, can you call Swarna? Shonottara was shocked as even she didn't know about these two but she called her...Swarna came and again smelled the perfume, she said Chandra it's so strong......what's going on with you? He said nothing and spread rose perfume on her. Swarna said, Chandra, what is happening? He said nothing and picked her up in arms and threw her on bed...... Shonottara was shocked to see all this....Swarna says whats going on but he put his fingers on her lips....and said don't talk and they started embracing each other.....Swarna was very confused, Shonottara was just standing there in shock.....Swarna thought, something must have happened, should I ask Acharya? No I must not. I can't get too involved. I am not Chief Queen and if I write something Durdhara might get worried........I....should go with the flow.....and Shonottara left the curtains flowing and the room. She thought, what's going on with him? I have never seen him like this, it's like he's longing for someone who is not even here.

Helena, her friends and Achilles were in a Sarai...Helena said to her friends, Friends from tomorrow we will start our journey. She said , from where should we start? Helena said, I heard Dandamis who once met Alexander lives nearby. We will first meet him. It would be so exciting to meet him who had seen Alexander himself. Another girl said, yes it will be absolutely exciting and they just couldn't wait to meet Dandamis. Helena said, from tomorrow my journey will start. Chandra who was lying beside Swarna said, from tomorrow my journey will start.

Oracle looked at sky .......and laughed.... Their story is going to start now.......Lion will not be able to escape.....she laughed......Beware rose......you will be besotted.........she laughed again......

Part 100

Next morning Chandra met his Amatyas. One said, Sire, we have got to know ruler of Bactria , Babylon and Persia wants to attack beyond Bactria because Antigonus is threatening him from West so he wants to move east to make himself stronger. His wife is also Persian. He remembered Apama visiting once. He asked what's the name of the ruler? He said, his name is Seleucus. Chandra smiled and thought, Swarna's father name was Suluva and his name is Seleucus. Hope in future they won't be mistaken for same person and he laughed. Amatyas were confused. One said, Sire we must attack him. Chandra said, no, if we attack him we would go far away in distant lands and we have high chances we might lose. Let him come....to us, we will crush him like Indra crushed Vrita. If he does anything mischievous I will kill him. He smirked.....Amatyas says, what about negotiations, war can be avoided. He said, if he does negotiations I am open for that but what negotiations can be done with barbarians. Remember what happened with warriors of Maskavati, even after Aliksundara gave them safe passage they were brutally betrayed and martyred. I have heard he had been General of Aliksundara. I don't trust him. For negotiations I must have to be in very favourable situation. Amatyas agreed with him. He said, I don't trust them. Later he came to meet Swarna, Mura , Chaya and Pushya and said, Pushya and Chaya, I am sending you to Saurashtra as governor. He was shocked, he said but Sire I want to stay here help you in this terrible situation. He said, dont worry, I have called Akshay, Akshay, Shashank and I will see the conditions here, you are newly married, you must live peacefully for now, Pushya and Chaya protested but he was determined. He said to Mura and Swarna, maa, Swarna, you guys should go to Magadha with kids. It's not safe here anymore. Enemies can use you guys against me. You should leave as quickly as possible. Swarna came to him and said but what about Durdhara? Will she accept me there? He said, if she can accept Nandini, she will accept you. It's not safe here anymore. He later met Swarna alone and she had tears in her eyes, he hugged her from back and said what happened? She said you just came and now you are sending me away. He said, it's for your own good. Atleast think about children. She said then send them away, I will stay with you. He wiped her tears and said, children are too young, they cannot stay alone without their mother. You must leave. She said idiot in Greek. He replied back. She forgot he knew the language. Swarna said, I am not comfortable with your co wives, specially irrational Nandini who cast irritating curses and Durdhara who easily gets jealous but always keeps fake smile on her face. He laughed and said, well they are not saints, they have emotions. Won't you feel jealous? Swarna said, I am already feeling due to your rose obsession. He got shocked, she asked who has caught your fancy that you have become so obsessed with its fragrance? You only have her in your mind right now. Chandra annoyed and said, there is no one in my mind Swarna. Do you think I am like DhanaNanda? Swarna said, absolutely not but I think for this rose woman you might become worse than him. Chandra shouted Swarna.....she said don't yell ......last night I understood you want someone so bad you wore rose scent and spread it all over me......she touched his face and said tell me the truth. I might not be your Agramahishi but as you say I am your dearest.....what is happening? He removed her hand and said go away.....swarna said but, he yelled Go Away. Swarna left in shock.......Chandra was highly angry and he pushed a table nearby with his legs.....He said, Nandini your curse will not be fulfilled because she doesn't exist........Helena was walking through the market with her friends and Achilles and everyone was mesmerized seeing her.......she was looking breathtakingly gorgeous.....they were on their way to meet Dandayan. Her friend said, Helena everyone is looking at you. She said, let them look......I am the best......she giggled, Achilles said, yes you are with flirty eyes and Helena became annoyed and ignored him. Achilles smirked....

Part 101

Helena and her friends met Dandamis.....they bowed to him....he was meditating....Helena said Dandamis....and he got shocked....he opened his eyes in shock, massive thunderstorms started happening, Dandayan was shocked, he looked at the sky......and laughed, Helena was confused, she said, why these mystics laugh like this? Dandayan said, so you are here. Helena said, you know me. He said, how can I not know the most fragrant desert Rose, for whom even monks are ready to leave their vows....Helena got shy and Achilles was irritated, he wanted to grab her had and take her away but as he was about to do this...his hand got a big jerk and he fell off. Everyone laughed.... Dandayan says to him, no matter how much you try, it can't happen. No one understood what he meant. He said, nature has made this rose for a moon. She said a moon? There is only one moon in the sky. He said, my child, you are destined to be bloomed in protection of moon. She was confused, Helena angrily said, why you mystics talk in riddles? First oracle and now you. He laughed and said, my child we can only hint, only time will tell what I am hinting at. Helena said, I don't understand you guys, can't you guys talk clearly? She was angry. Dandayan only smiled and said, my child your destiny has brought you here, your souls are bound together. It's like a curse. Helena said, am I a curse? He said, a sweet curse. He looked so handsome. His name caught Helena's attentions, she said handsome you say? Is he really? She said, yes Yavan Kumari (by seeing her dress). He's most generous, handsome and kind. And also very brave. Helena got interested. She thought my mother had same praises for him but she never told me he was handsome. She asked is he married? She said, oh yes he has two wives. But apparently that Yavana is keeping him engaged there. I tell you I am getting irritated with Yavanas now. First Swarna , then Shonottara and now this ruler who wants to attack him.
