If I were to be rich and be a producer, you @NostalgiaLove, would be the historian of the show. Maybe leave the original actors BUT make sure proper workshops are given to the actors and a language coach too. Duration of the workshop: 3 months at least, 6 months at most, with body language courses also included. A total change of wardrobe, making them more nature friendly and give them this rustic look, but not forgetting to make it royal, but not nightgown-ny!!!! Also, gone with cotton candy, and in with a more vampire like tone given, which could also have been freckles included. No modern or sleeve blouses or strap blouses, but more like 1 cloth 100s of ways to wear it as a top. Or 1 garment/saree outfit. Use of wooden champals rather than the Greek like ones. Attention to details given!!

Also, I'd use this to make their jewels or accessories or headwears most of the time or even ropes as part of their actual garments:

For a historical to work, audiences need to believe it all happened, audiences watched Jodha Akbar as they loved jewellery and lehngas of Jodha and initially she followed history , Chandra Nandini was liked till Chandra hadn't become a simp for Nandini.
