Dedh Ishqiya Dull Overseas Dhoom 3 Sets New Benchmark

Dedh Ishqiya fared poorly in Overseas collecting around $525,000 while Yaariyan only had a limited release and was screened in UAE. Dedh Oshqiya may do around $1 million in Overseas but not much more.

Dhoom 3 has gone over $26 million and set a new benchmark crossing the figures of 3 Idiots. The film has also set or close to setting new benchmarks in all the major territories be it US, UK, UAE, Aus or Pak

Yaariyan And Dedh Ishqiya Get Benefit Of Holiday On Tuesday

Yaariyan and Dedh Ishqiya got benefit of a holiday for Makar Sakranti in parts of the country which helped them to hold collections on Tuesday.

Dedh Ishqiya got a little more benefit as it is holding up better. The collections of Dedh Ishqiya were up around 25 lakhs nett going to 2 crore nett taking its five day total to 15.25 crore nett.

Yaariyan had the same figure as Monday as it collected 2.50 crore nett taking its five day total to 21.50 crore nett. It does not change the scenario much for the films as Yaariyan which had a good weekend is not really sustaining while Dedh Ishqiya is steady but a dull weekend has done the damage.

Saw both yaariyan and dedh ishq and lovee dedh ishq ! Do see it..great movie ! Yaariyan was okay okay not that great but not as bad either

Dedh Ishqiya Goes Ahead Of Yaariyan On Day Eight

Dedh Ishqiya edged past Yaariyan on day eight. The figures were getting close every day over the weekdays but it was the 8th day that Dedh Ishqiya finally managed to garner better all India collections than Yaariyan.

Dedh Ishqiya grossed around 85-90 lakhs nett on day eight while Yaariyan grossed around 70-75 lakhs nett.

The second week of Dedh Ishqiya will be better than Yaariyan but overall it will stay lower as it won't be able to make up the gap in the business of both films in week one.

Overall the second week business of both films is on the lower side.

Teeny bopper romance Yaariyan scored over arty crime comedy Dedh Ishqiya at the box office in its first week.

Yaariyan can now be dubbed a HIT with the first week collection of Rs. 31.50 crore net, of which 19.20 crore came in the opening weekend itself. The film held its footfalls coming into the weekdays. The movie's youth-centric theme has appealed to most of the viewers, despite it being panned by the critics.

On the other hand, Dedh Ishqiya won rave reviews but failed to attract crowds to the theatres. Its first week's collection stands at Rs. 19.50 crore nett of which 11.36 crore came from the opening weekend. The performance has clearly been below par, given the fact that it is the comeback vehicle of Madhuri Dixit.

Movie Review: Dedh Ishqiya' is no great shakes

This week's releases Karle Pyaar Karle and Miss Lovely have opened to a very dull start at theatres.

It's the lull at the box office that usually precedes any Salman Khan release. No big movie wants to compete with Jai Ho, slated to release on January 24.

Will the film create new box office records and even surpass the business of Dhoom 3 which is presently the highest grosser at domestic box office with Rs. 283 crore nett?
