can u guys tell me why the villagers of birpur marry their daughters off to a different country's people? Paro's husband's family were from which country's?

Paro's husband was from Pakistan!

It's actually all the Thakur's decision. He has such a hold over the villagers that he convinces them that the best way for their daughters to have a good life away from the BSD's terror is to marry someone from across the border! Plus, he pays for the wedding, so he picks the groom? Or atleast that is what I gathered from the vague mentions in the show!

no no its actually like before the partition the people from that other side of the border used to be under the rule of the Thakur or rather the kings of his family.

Thus for the villagers some generations back its the same set of people.. family friends distant relations etc..

But Thakur is using this for his advantage n manipulaes every1
